Chapter 21

The moment I woke up, I immediately grabbed my phone and called the girls. Luckily, they were free today, and so I prepared for our instant meeting.

"What's with the sudden get-together?" Annie yawned, who's clearly trying to be alive with her iced coffee.

"Raiver and I talked last night," I spilled.

The two looked at each other, before locking their sight at me. "Tama ba narinig namin?" Kristelle asked.

I nodded.

"Tapos anong nangyari?" Annie asked, too.

I heaved a sigh. I looked around, before I leaned closer to them and lowered my voice. "Break na sila ng girlfriend niya."

They gasped in unison. "OMG? True?!" Annie shrieked, and I immediately covered her mouth.

"He told me I should not tell anyone about this. Better be quiet," I said.

"Kailan pa?"

I smiled sheepishly. "No'ng birthday mo..."

They gasped for the second time. "Not on my birthday," Annie crossed her brows. "Wait, you mean, after ng party, right? Kasi, when they came, they were still good, even during the party."

I nodded.

"Sino nakipag-break?" Kristelle asked.

"Si Raive—"

Before I could finish, the girls leaned back against their chairs. "I knew it," Kristelle said. "That guy is a walking red flag."

"Naku, ano kaya dahilan ng break-up nila," Annie pondered.

They looked at me with a suspicious look. I was instantly flustered. "Ano?"

"Di kaya, ikaw?"

I shook my head. "No way. Bakit naman ako?"

"Then, bakit sa lahat-lahat ng guests sa party, ikaw lang 'yong kilala ng girl?" Annie insisted.

"Wait. I was about to say that, too," I said. "But, bakit naman nila ako pag-aawayan? Kaano-ano ba ako sa buhay nila?"

"Malay mo. Girlie found out na may feelings pala si guy sa'yo," Kristelle suggested.

"Lol, not him," I rolled my eyes.

"Or maybe, it has to do with your bestfriend," Annie suggested, too.

"What? Ba't damay si Greg dito?"

Annie suddenly closed her eyes, and took some deep breaths. "Based on my analysis, probably the time you introduced Greg to him. He saw how close you are, so nakaramdam siya ng selos. Tapos, do'n nagsimula 'yong pagka-confused niya. Ni-assess niya muna if may nararamdaman nga ba siya sa'yo, hanggang sa na-figure out niyang meron nga. Then, si girlie, probably noticed na very interested si guy sa'yo in a strange way, or heard your name from him or somewhere. Naging curious si girl sa'yo to the point na she asked his friends if they knew something about you until she figured out na nag-confess ka sa kanya back in high school. And, the rest is history," she babbled.

I just winced in disbelief. "That's a hard one to believe, Annie."

"That's just a theory of mine," she chuckled. "Take it or leave it. It's up to you."

I shrugged off. "Anyway, can you help me dress up for tonight's event? Hindi ko kasi alam kung ano susuotin ko," I asked.

"Sure. Anong event ba 'yan? Don't tell me, ando'n na naman 'yang Raiver," Kristelle said.
