Isabelle was lying beside Moon and Aisha at the beach, watching Eli and Demetri fail spectacularly at beach volleyball.

"Are you not going to tan?" Moon asked from where she lay in the sun.

Isabelle cringed, "No, I'm tan enough already, and I wouldn't want tan lines from my shirt." Isabelle still had some bruises on her back, so she wore an oversized shirt over her bikini to cover them. So, she was forced to stay in the shade under the umbrella Demetri brought.

Miguel walked up to the group, looking upset. Hawk greeted him with their personal handshake.

"Why you so down el serpiente? Is it because Isabelle got fired? It'll be fine. Sensei and her will make up in no time," Eli exclaimed, trying to cheer him up.

Miguel just shook his head, scowling. "I'm not upset about that. I mean, I am, but that's not it right now. It's something else about Sensei."

"Is this about his rap sheet? My parents read it online. I think it makes him more badass," Eli rambled admiringly.

Miguel scoffed, "It's about Robby Keene." Hawk immediately glowered at the mention of Keene. Both boys scowled at each other before walking off to the side, away from their friends. "Robby Keene is Sensei's son."

Eli's eyes bulged out of his head in surprise, "No way."

"It's true, I saw a picture of him on Sensei's fridge," Miguel explained.

"Do you think Isabelle knew?" Eli asked, trying to process the new information that the guy he swore was the enemy is his sensei's son.

Miguel's frown deepened, "Maybe? But why wouldn't she tell us?"

"Let's go ask," Hawk scoffed before storming towards Isabelle. He roughly grabbed her arm before dragging her back to where Miguel was standing.

"Don't be so rough with her," Miguel growled out as he shoved Hawk's hands away from Isabelle.

Isabelle glared at Hawk, "What the hell is wrong with you? You could've just asked me to talk, and I would've gotten up and followed you."

Hawk just glared back before asking through clenched teeth, "Did you know Robby Keene was Sensei's son?"

"Yes," Isabelle deadpanned, not in the mood for Hawk's attitude and definitely not having enough patience to mess around.

Miguel's jaw tensed in anger and betrayal, "Why didn't you tell us?"

"Because that is not my place. Johny asked me not to, and Robby didn't want anyone to know either. That's their decision to make, not mine," Isabelle scoffed, shocked by the boys' audacity to ask that. "In fact, this isn't your business at all. And sticking your nose in it will only bring you trouble."

Hawk rolled his eyes before storming off. Miguel just gazed at her, shocked, for a minute before shaking his head and walking off in the direction Hawk had gone.

At the dojo, Miguel stretched his legs out as he contemplated Isabelle's words. Maybe he shouldn't confront Sensei about this. It was personal and not his business.

"So, I did a deep dive online, and you were right. Sensei's definitely Keene's father," Hawk declared, interrupting his thoughts.

Miguel sighed, trying to suppress his rising anger, which was quickly clouding his rational thoughts.

"I just don't understand why he wouldn't tell us," Miguel murmured.

Hawk scoffed, "I don't know. But it explains why he's giving us shit for kicking Keene's ass at the tournament. Show no mercy... unless it's his son. Then we gotta be pussies."
