"I'm picking up my lover, which is you. I thought since I'd be passing by your penthouse anyway, why not pick you up? Plus, it'll be better so no one suspects anything."
Nunew was left shocked, his mind reeling. "But it's still early," he said, flustered and a bit annoyed. "I'm not yet done getting ready."
Zee laughed at Nunew's reaction. "Sorry, I'm just used to it. It's okay, I'll wait here for you." Zee ended the call.
Ever since his past relationships, none of his exes had done this for him, picking him up from his penthouse. He was used to being the one to pick up his exes, but now it was the other way around.
As he settled into Zee's car, he couldn't help but steal glances at Zee. With his casual yet stylish outfit, Zee looked effortlessly handsome, and Nunew found it hard to look away. The way Zee's muscles subtly showed through his oversized sleeves and how his cap highlighted his sharp features made Nunew's heart race a little faster.
As they drove, Nunew tried to distract himself from the growing attraction he felt. He pulled out his phone, pretending to be engrossed in messages and social media, but his mind kept wandering back to Zee. He turned his attention to the passing scenery outside the window, hoping the changing landscape would help calm his racing thoughts.
Nunew's silence wasn't just a result of shock; it was also a way to manage the complex feelings bubbling inside him. He was trying to process the unexpected kindness and attention Zee was showing him, wondering what it could mean for their relationship. All these thoughts made him quiet and introspective, a stark contrast to his usually chatty and vibrant self.
Zee, noticing Nunew's uncharacteristic silence, didn't push for conversation. Instead, he let the quiet moments stretch out, occasionally glancing at Nunew with a small, knowing smile.
"He's so talkative in chats, but now He's quiet?" He thought and shrugged it off, thinking Nunew was just tired.

They arrived at the restaurant, but Nunew seemed lost in his thoughts. The car ride had been silent, filled only with the sounds of the city passing by and the occasional hum of the engine. Zee, noticing Nunew's distraction, finally decided to speak, breaking the silence that had stretched too long.
"We're here, Nhu. Don't you want to talk?" Zee's deep, resonant voice brought Nunew back to his senses, snapping him out of his senses.
"Huh?" Nunew responded, blinking and looking at Zee with wide, doe-like eyes, still somewhat dazed from his thoughts.
Zee, seeing Nunew's confused expression, leaned closer, causing Nunew to instinctively lean back against his seat.
"What? Are we really not going to talk here? You've been ignoring me since earlier." Zee said, his eyebrows furrowing in mock annoyance before turning into a playful, teasing look.
"I was thinking that maybe you are..." He continued to lean closer and closer to Nunew, invading his personal space.
Nunew's eyes widened in surprise as he felt the closeness between them shrinking. His heart raced, and he could feel the warmth radiating from Zee. In a quick, flustered motion, he pushed Zee away.
"You're really full of yourself. Let's just go," he said, his voice a mix of frustration and embarrassment as he hurriedly exited the car.
Zee watched him with amusement, chuckling at Nunew's reaction. He went out of the car following him.
Nunew, on the other hand, was trying to steady his racing heart as he walked toward the restaurant entrance. The playful banter and Zee's teasing were getting under his skin in a way that made him feel both excited and irritated. He took a deep breath, trying to compose himself.
'Why does he have to be so annoyingly charming?' he thought, feeling a mix of annoyance and something he couldn't quite name.
As they walked into the restaurant, Zee fell into step beside Nunew, still grinning from ear to ear. He enjoyed seeing Nunew flustered; it was a side of him that Zee found increasingly adorable. Despite the teasing, Zee was also curious about the depth of Nunew's thoughts. He wondered what was really going on in his mind during those quiet moments.
Nunew glanced at Zee from the corner of his eye, still slightly flustered but determined to maintain his composure. Nunew suddenly felt Zee's hands around his waist. The unexpected contact made him tense up slightly. He turned to look at Zee with a forced smile, his eyes questioning why Zee needed to do that.
Zee returned Nunew's look with a calm, indifferent expression, as if to say, 'What? It's no big deal.' He kept his hands where they were, maintaining his relaxed demeanor.
'Focus, Nhu. Don't let him get to you.' he reminded himself as they approached the host stand. He was determined to keep things professional and to stick to their plan, even if Zee's unexpected charm was making that increasingly difficult.
They were shown to their table, and as they sat down, Nunew took another deep breath, readying himself for the evening ahead. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy, with soft lighting and a gentle hum of conversation around them. Nunew hoped that the setting would help him relax and refocus.
As they sat down at the table, Zee leaned in and said, "Wait for me for a second. I need to get something."
Nunew nodded, watching Zee walk away. While he waited, the food arrived, but Zee was still nowhere to be found. Just as Nunew was about to call him, he caught a whiff of something fragrant. Turning his head, he saw Zee standing beside him, holding a bouquet of flowers and smiling brightly
"This is for you," Zee said, presenting the flowers to Nunew.
