━─┉┈━─┉┈☾◉☽┈┉─━┈┉─━"He's coming here today!" Charlie cried out.
She and Vaggie were on the couches in the lobby. Charlie's head was held up only by her hands, as she buried her face into them. Vaggie was beside her patting her back gently.
"Why, the king himself is coming to see us?" Alastor's smile widened, if even possible. Alastor had more of a wicked grin on his face than a smile. Well, you suppose it was to be expected from him.
"Hello everyone," you smiled as you descended down the lobby stairs. "Charlotte, my dear, whatever is the matter?"
Vaggie turned to look at you, motioning frantically not to ask. As you were entirely unsure what was happening, you merely stood there even more confused.
"...mmmm," Charlie whined a cry into her hands. "My dad." She peaked up from behind her hands to catch your reaction. You were unfazed by it. The King of Hell.
"I can't wait to meet him," Alastor glitched.
You settled yourself on the seat perpendicular to the sofa Charlie and Vaggie were seated on. You picked up a piece you were working on, an embroidery pattern full of life, from next to the chair. It was pretty little scene. A looming forest in the far corner with strange figures creeping out of the twisted trunk. Right next to it was a lush meadow, housing a half finished brick castle.
"What a nice view, my dear," Alastor curled around the side of the chair, over your shoulder, to see more closely what you were working on.
"Thank you, Alastor," you hummed, continuing where you left off in your stitch work. "The king of hell is coming for a visit?"
Charlie pulled some loose strands of her blonde hair away from her face and behind her ear to meet your eyes unobstructed. "Yeah," she sighed. "I didn't want to go to him for help. I wanted to prove I could do this impossible dream on my own.""Impossible dream, Charlotte? No dream is impossible if you try your hardest. Sometimes though, that dream has to be altered a little to make it possible," you responded, your kindest smile on your face. Princess Charlotte needs to know. But she can't. She mustn't. She'll find out. Soon.
"I have been! But the extermination is nearing everyday! I—"
"—Yes, that is how time works," Alastor butt in.
"—I just don't know anymore. We have so little time left and I haven't made any progress," Charlie sighed.
"You've helped some," Vaggie pat her back.
"You made these demons' lives a little better in some way or another," you reasoned. "Angel may be staying here just for a free place to live anyway from Val. But he's trying. So is Pentious."
"And you?"
You hesitated. "You need not worry about my intention. All good things, I promise. I want only the best for Hell's hierarchy, Princess."
