The Avengers gathered in the conference room, the air thick with tension. Sam stood at the head of the table, his face grave. Bucky, Yelena, Clint, and Shuri sat around the table, while Sera sat further down the table, arms crossed and eyes downcast. Stephen Strange lingered near the back, observing silently.

"Alright, let's go over what we know," Sam began, his voice steady but edged with frustration. "Dr. Adelstein told us that Sera was part of HYDRA's Shadow Operatives program. He also revealed that her memories were altered, and she has powers we didn't fully understand until now."

Bucky leaned forward, his brows furrowed. "He said they used the mind stone on her. That's not something you just walk away from. We need to figure out the extent of her powers and how to help her control them."

Yelena glanced at Sera, who remained silent, then back at Sam. "And what about her memories? If what she knows isn't true, we need to know what is."

Clint sighed, rubbing his temples. "We also have to consider the possibility that HYDRA might come after her. She's their 'greatest creation,' according to Adelstein."

Shuri nodded, her expression serious. "We need to find a way to counteract the memory alterations and understand her powers better. But we can't ignore the risk she poses if she's unstable."

Sera finally spoke up, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and fear. "I never asked for any of this. I don't even know who I am anymore."

Sam softened his tone. "We know, Sera. But we have to figure out a way forward. We can't let HYDRA win by tearing us apart."

Stephen Strange stepped forward, addressing the group. "I can delve into her mind, try to untangle the alterations. It won't be easy, and it might not be pleasant, but it's a start."

Bucky's gaze hardened. "We need to be prepared for whatever we find. Sera deserves to know the truth, and we need to understand her powers if we're going to help her."

Yelena placed a hand on Sera's shoulder. "We'll get through this together."

Sam nodded in agreement. "Alright. Stephen, you'll work with Sera on her memories. Shuri, start researching ways to help her control her powers. The rest of us will focus on tracking down more information on the Shadow Operatives program and any other HYDRA remnants. We should also work on figuring out how Sera and Adelstein got here from their universe."

Clint looked at Sera with a mix of sympathy and determination. When he looked at her, all he could think of were his kids. He would never want any child to have to go through this, knowing their parents didn't care enough to help them. "We're not giving up on you, kid."

Sera nodded, a flicker of hope in her eyes. "Thank you."

The meeting ended, but the weight of uncertainty lingered in the air. The Avengers were united in their mission, but the road ahead was fraught with challenges. As they dispersed, each member carried the burden of their doubts and fears, but also the resolve to protect their own and uncover the truth.

Sera didn't know where to go after the meeting, so she just headed back to her room. She liked the space there. It was quiet and no one was judging her or worrying about whether she might snap.

Once she was sure she was alone, she lifted the edge of her jacket. And there, one the inside of her wrist was her identification tattoo. The number 11. Her heart sank and while she couldn't remember all of what happened, that number told her it was all real.

She slammed the door in anger, the force of the action reverberating in the walls. She leaned against the door, her breathing uneven and ragged. Her mind was like a storm, conflicting emotions thundering. The truths that were revealed during the interrogation of the scientist had shattered her fragile sense of self-control she had been clinging to since her escape. She sank to the floor, hugging her knees close to her chest. "They lied to me," her quiet words sounding hollow and foreign in the silent room. Her mind scoured through the few memories she had from HYDRA. The ones they implanted into her. Brutal training sessions, bloody missions, constant reminders that the Avengers were the enemies who killed her family. But the truth doubted everything she knew. If the Avengers hadn't been responsible for all of the bad things, what else had HYDRA twisted? For so long she believed what she was doing with HYDRA was right. Was good. That she was the hero.
