[ TRIGGER WARNING: contains mentions of verbal abuse and suicide]

---

With all of what's happening in Alice's life right now, she feels overwhelmed. It's not easy for her to put it into words, but she feels like it's necessary to try. The different emotions that she's feeling right now feel like a heavy and thick fog that is wrapped around her, making everything for her seem distant and unsure.

She's tired. And it's not just in the sense that an ice cream could fix. Every day is a struggle, and it feels like she's just going through a motion.

She feels an overwhelming sense of fear, anxiety, confusion, and disbelief. All of the accusations that are thrown against her make her feel that the world is spinning uncontrollably and out of control. Alice couldn't help but question herself: How did things escalate this way? One day she's helping her ka-Bambans, and all of a sudden, she gets investigated, gets terminated as mayor, and has different law cases filed against her.

The fear of public opinion, the anxiety of legal repercussions, and the stress of dealing with constant scrutiny are draining. Every look, every glance, every post, and every statement from other public officials feels like a judgment being passed on her as a person.

She wants to explain her side, to explain everything that is being thrown against her, but how could she? Alice had her name dragged into the mud. With the uncertainty of what will happen tomorrow, she feels like she's under a microscope. She feels like everyone around her is trying to find something wrong with her, trying to investigate and find all of the possible things she's done.

Alice feels powerless; she feels angered by the injustice of what's happening to her. She could feel the frustration of not being able to explain herself and clear things up for the better. She felt the betrayal of the people whom she once trusted. Alice understands that the other public officials in the Philippines are just trying to protect their own country, but did they really have to go this far?

When she tries to explain her side, she always gets cut off. Alice is telling the truth; she knows for herself that she's innocent.

So, for once and for all, she wanted to end all of this. She feels tired, she feels miserable, and she feels like she's just being toyed around.

Alice is wearing her white pajamas, and the pills that she's going to use are already prepared; the only thing that she's waiting for is her courage. She closed her eyes and hugged her knees, feeling the tears welling up again.

Meanwhile, Y/N was the closest friend of Alice before. She was devastated when Alice avoided her a few long years ago, and when she saw that Alice was on the hot plate of public attention, she couldn't help but feel worried, despite what happened between the both of them.

Alice felt her body getting weaker as seconds passed by.

She's scared to do it.

Alice felt tired; she's exhausted. Exhausted by the fact that she wanted to end it all, despite knowing that she's innocent, that none of the accusations against her are true.

Alice looked at the pills once again, grabbing them from the bedside table. She opened it and dumped all the pills on her palm.

When she was about to swallow the pills, her cellphone rang. At first, she ignored the ringing of her phone, but it just kept on going. So she knew she had to pick it up.

Her eyebrows furrowed as she saw an unknown number on the screen. Maybe it was not that important anyway. When she was about to throw her phone away, Alice heard a ding from her phone.
