Chapter 14-Diary

     It's Christmas day, and I had gotten gifts for everyone, but I didn't think they would've gotten me anything, or it wouldn't have been that special. We were sitting around the tree with Draco's parents, as they were the nicest ones out of everyone's parents.

     They dished out the presents, and I was surprised with how many I got and how different their sizes were. We watched each other open their presents, and I was forced to wait until the end while everyone opened their own.

     I got Draco new quidditch gloves that help him hold onto the snitch; Theo got some rare ingredients for potion making; I gave Mattheo some new quidditch gloves as well, but his are for chasers; Blaise got new books called 'Different Ways to Perform Spells' and 'More Advance Spells They Don't Teach at Hogwarts'; and lastly, I gave Tom a miniature basilisk. I got many thanks before they all turned to me and asked me to open my presents.

     I opened Dracos first. He got me a new potion-making set, and I knew it had to be the highest-grade one out there. Theo got me a bunch of new clothes that I have no idea what to do with them. Blaise got me a new notebook that would make copies of itself, add pages as needed, and can even copy text with a spell. Mattheo got me a pendant with the name I'm going by now, but when I flipped, I saw my original name. Draco's parents also got me some jewellery, and I felt a little bad I didn't give them anything, but they said it was fine. Tom gave me a small box, and I saw how everyone was paying more attention to me and seem excited about something.

     I saw Eila was getting confuse on why everyone was getting excited. I grabbed the box she was about to open and opened it for her. It held my family ring in it.

     She gasped softly when I opened the box. She knew I was asking to court her per the pure-blood tradition of giving them your family ring. She covered her mouth before nodding. She looked like she couldn't get any words out, so I took her right hand and put the ring on her ring finger. She looked at it before quickly hugging me, surprising the both of us.

     "Thank you," she whispered quietly in my ear.

     I just squeezed her one last time before we parted. Narcissa asked to see the ring while Lucius congratulated me. The others immediately began teasing us both, but we ignored them.

     Later that night, we were in our room when Eila quickly hugged me. I paused for a second before hugging her back.

     "You okay?" I asked.

     "Yeah, I just needed to remind myself that this is real."

     I said nothing but kept hugging her until she was ready to let go. She gave me a little kiss before pulling away and heading into the bathroom. When she turned away, I saw she had a slight blush, making me smile.

     I'm over the moon that Tom's courting me. I don't think anything could bring me from this high. Once I was done with my shower, I pulled out my diary and started writing down what happened and how I feel. I also drew a picture of the ring.

     We then lay down. Tom cuddled me from behind before I turned over and wrapped my arms around him. I don't normally do this, as I sometimes try to fight during my night terrors, but I'm too happy to care.
