As I was putting the records aside processing what just had happened. Two guys entered the room with their luggage.
Venu, he had a warm smile. He was wearing a plain blue oversized shirt a black former pants. Rough hair and a long nose. "Damn! He is huge is he over 6 feet?" I muttered looking at him
Vijay, he looked fresh out of school. Brown checks shirt with blue jeans. He definitely had a punchable face.
As we introduced ourselves. They were both surprised to meet me. "You from Mumbai?" "Why and how did you end up here?" Their eyebrows raised and their bodies leaned toward me.
"Things happened and I ended up here...." I went back to unpacking my stuff.
"Aren't you guys hungry? Let's check the mess together" Venu asked both of us in the room
Agreeing to his request we headed to the mess for lunch.
As I took the first bite "Ugh, this mess food is disgusting! I can't eat this." I spoke out as I had never tasted such tasteless food before.
Venu passes me the homemade pickle"I know, right? I had to survive my school hostel on curd and pickle."
"Thank you! I swear, I've had better food at a roadside stall of Mumbai"
"Mom I miss your cooking so much. She would never serve us anything like this." Vijay joined the interaction
Venu agrees with Vijay"Yeah, I miss my mom's food too. But at least we have curd and pickle"
"Haha, yeah! Our daily staple!" Vijay with a smirk.
I tried to keep the interaction to a minimum. Not sure why, I was just not in a mood. Maybe the first interaction with seniors didn't go well. Maybe it started when I arrived in Coimbatore or way before that. "Actually It's my fault I ended up here" This thoughts was continuously running through my head
After lunch on the way to the hostel, we heard a voice from behind us"Hey, you!" We turned back few students were sitting in uniform over the wall "Yes, you, the new batch! Come here and introduce yourselves!" one of them waved his hand towards us
