The year 2020 ended with most of the time locked in the houses due to the COVID-19 outbreak. After the new year 2021, my parents decided to find a match for Rohit (my brother). All the matches had to be finally accepted by me as my brother always wanted my decision to matter in the house. I denied all the matches brought by my parents for Rohit as I felt that no one was worth my awesome brother and mom was getting irritated as I was not accepting any of her choices for my brother.

One day Mom and Dad decided to go to the village to meet a family for my brother and didn't let me join them as they knew I wouldn't be accepting anyone that easily. My brother also joined them and that evening I got a call from my brother saying the marriage had been fixed. I was shocked that they decided on the bride on the same day and also accepted the marriage date within a few months.

I asked my brother if he liked the girl and he had a positive response. I was worried about the fast decision however I knew that their decision wouldn't be wrong and was happy for my brother.

However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the wedding was limited to immediate family members in my village. Me and my brother wanted Indu's family to attend as their family was close to us, but unfortunately, due to government regulations of limited guests, our parents decided not to invite Indu's family.

It hurt me and my brother deeply. I wanted to have Indu and their family be a part of such an important celebration in our family. The wedding was good however I felt that there was something missing in the marriage.

After the wedding, I focused on my career and finally landed a job as an engineer at a fence manufacturing company in Mumbai.

I learned a lot. Three months into the job, I got an opportunity to handle a project in Hyderabad. Eager to gain on-site work experience and manage a project independently, I took the chance and shifted to Hyderabad, thinking it would be a temporary move.

I informed Indu that I would be traveling to Hyderabad and was wishing for her college to start lecturing on the college campus so that I could meet her in Hyderabad. However, due to COVID-19 she was still having online classes and exams and was about to finish her 1st year of college.
