Interrupted peace

9- Reunion

She led you back to the cave, you landed Luna next to Cloudjumper sliding off to stand next to her. She lunged forward to engulf you in a tight hug, you immediately returned the gesture. Hugging her tightly. You then ran off to go find Hiccup and Viggo, while Valka went to check on her dragons.
'How was it?' Hiccup asked,
'I need to sit down' you said, sitting on a rock next to him. He looked at you sympathetically,
'I felt the same, she's alive, it's' Hiccup ran his hands through his hair, Viggo walked up to you. Putting one of his hands on your shoulder,
'This has been an eventful day hasn't it' he said, smiling down at you.

'The understatement of the century' you said, you then heard a quiet footstep behind you. Spinning around you saw Stoick with his hand around Hiccup's mouth. He wriggled out of his grip, he then looked at Hiccup and at you.
'What are you doing here?' he asked angrily,
'What am I doing here, what are you doing here?' you stood up, Stoick then pushed Hiccup back where they came. He also grabbed your arm, pulling you along.
'Wait, hold on' you said, but he didn't let go.
'Dad, wait' Hiccup struggled to keep up. Viggo was just observing as long as Gobber.

'Out of all the surprises i've sprung on you this is one you'll like I promise' Hiccup said,
'You just have to handle it delicately' you said as you stepped into an open cave. You saw your mother standing next to Cloudjumper. Her eyes widened as she saw Stoick standing here, he slowly let go of your arm. You rubbed the area, frowning, but he couldn't care less. He slowly walked up to her, she took a few steps back till her back hit the ice behind her.
'I'm sorry i left you to raise them alone' she said,
'Come on Stoick shout, scream, say something' she pleaded, you saw the dragons surrounding her protectively.

'You're as beautiful as the day I left you' Stoick soke quietly, cupping her face gently before leaning in and kissing her passionately. You and Hiccup just watched, feeling emotions you haven't felt since childhood. You finally had the family you've begged for since you were both little. The sleepless nights crying as you cursed the gods for taking her way, but here she was. The dragons backed away as they realized she wasn't in any danger, Hiccup grabbed your arm and walked up to Stoick. Standing next to him, smiling widely. Valka put her hand on his head, ruffling his hair. But in her eyes you could sense the eternal regret, she's missed so much. Gobber walked up behind you and pushed you all into a group hug, you and Hiccup being trapped between everyone.

You managed to move and get out of the bear hug Gobber initiated, but Stoick's arm still kept you in place. You looked over to the side to see Viggo smiling intently, you stretched out your arm to him. He raised an eyebrow. You moved your hand, telling him to come over here. He was now a part of your family. He chuckled walking towards you, he allowed you to grab him arm and pull him into the hug. Stoick opened his arm, allowing you to hug him properly. You could see Valka looking over the two of you fondly but you didn't acknowledge it. Stoick leaned back, looking his wife in the eyes again, smiling. As you looked at him you saw him smile, a genuine, living, fulfilled smile. You haven't seen him smile like that before. It felt nice.

Valka leads you all to her living chambers, the part of the cave that she made her home. You grabbed a piece of fish, tossing it in the air for Luna to catch. She grumbled, licking her mouth. You went to throw another one when a familiar whistling rang in your ears. You held the fish in your hands as you turned around to see the source, you watched as Stoick walked up to your mother. Gently taking the water bottle out of her hands, she sighed. Not used to having all of you there, which you all understood.

Hiccup turned to look at them at the sound of the whistling as well,
'Oh I love this one' Gobber said, a wide smile on his face. Viggo recognised the whistling from you whistling or quietly singing the song front from time to time.
'Remember our song Val?' Stoick asked
'I'll swim and sail on the savage seas, with never a fear of drowning'
'And gladly ride the waves of life, if you will marry me'
You tilted your head as you listened, Luna crept up behind you and snatched the fish from your hand, running away from you. But you didn't even care, or acknowledge her.

'Nto scorching sun, nor freezing cold will-'
'Wll stop me on my journey' Gobber sang loudly, you reached over and smacked him on the chest. He sat down and apologized, everyone went silent again. And turned their attention to the scene in front of them. At first Valka was hesitant, it almost seemed as if she'd forgotten the words. But she took a deep breath and walked around him, putting her arm out.
'My dearest one my darling dear. You're mighty words astound me'
'But I've no need for mighty deeds when I feel your arms around me' she laughed as Stoick began to dance with her. They remembered the words and the moves like it was yesterday, like it was engraved into their minds.

'And I would keep you from all harm, if you would stay beside me'
'I have no use for rings or gold, I care not for your poetry, I only want your hand to hold'
'I only want you near me' Stoick laughed as he spun Valka around, she giggled along with him. Finally feeling
'To love, to kiss, to sweetly hold' they sang together, Gobber then shot up. He grabbed Hiccup by the arm and hoisted him up to dance with him. You giggled as you saw the confused look on Hiccup's face. Viggos gaze drifted from your parents to you, he had never seen you so at peace. The smile on your face was the purest smile on your face he had ever seen. When they came to an end of the song Stoick hoisted Valks in the air, a happy laugh coming from both of them. Stoick pulled her into a tight hug, she gladly accepted.

He chuckled happily as he regained his breath,
'Will you come home Val, will you be my wife once again?' he asked, Valka chuckled,
'Yes' she said happily, Toothless then poked his head into the circle, she smiled and scratched his chin.
'Of course I will' she said as she looked from Stoick to you and Hiccup,
'I have so much to catch up on' you grabbed Viggos hand and walked up to them, standing next to Hiccup.
'Kiara's doing the cooking' Gobber jokes, you laughed.
'I agree with that' Hiccup said, you rolled your eyes. You watched as Stoick wrapped his arms around Valkas shoulders, keeping her close. You smiled fondly as you watched them, your family was finally together, whole again. After all this time.
