"Cant... breathe—"

Daemon pulled back as vaera stumbled back gasping for breath

"Im sorry!" He declared rushing towards her. "Im so sorry my vaera."

"What the fuck?" She spat back once she regained her breath.

"I thought you were-"

"Mother was right." Vaera whimpered tears pulling at her eyes.

"No." Daemon begged

"I never should have come-"

"Vaera im sorry. You caught me at a bad time. I didnt realize it was you." Daemon begged.

"You could have killed me." Vaera countered. "You looked me in the eyes and squeezed."

"Vaera baby i didnt mean to. I didnt see you. Not really. My sweet girl please-"

"There is my sweet girl." Rhaenyra whimpered.

"I could get her..." Ser Laurent offered. Rhaenyra shook her head.

"She will think she is being held hostage, an attack." Rhaenyra countered as she made her way to the sept.

Rhaenyra saw alicent heading in, her guards remained behind, now was the time.

"I have to..."

"I will be here." Alicent offered giving her hand a squeeze. Rhaenyra watched maeve walk off with little Maekar in her arms. Saw aemond approach touching her back.

"I wanted solace Aem," maeve whispered

"And i wanted to see you."

When rhaenyra knelt beside alicent, alicent hesitated before recognizing her.

" No, no. Shh." Rhaenyra begged as alicent rose up, she looked to the blade in rhaenryas hand.

" What..."

"Shh." She demanded pointing the blade her.

"What... H..." alicent gasped back.

" I must speak with you."

"If I c-cry out?" Alicent countered noting aemond and maeve near the window.

"Your knights would find me. I would be taken or slain, though not before I killed you." Rhaenyra corrected.

"And then what?" Alicent demanded.

"W..." Rhaenyra hesitated. "I have begun badly." She realized and alicent scoffed.

"I came to be alone. Same as your mother." Maeve reminded him.

"Maeve i love you. I worry for you. Please-"

"Aem i love you. I love you so much. You are the father of my children but im just dealing with a lot right now and... i need... i need a moment to breathe."

"I can take maekar for you." Aemond offered. The little boy smiled reaching for him.

"We watched the tourney together, you and I... the day my brother was born. We knew, even then, that men trained up for battle are eager to fight, to seek blood and glory. But you are... I know you do not have that desire within you. Rhaenys has counseled me. She said she saw in you a wish to avert the worst of what may now come." Rhaenyra recalled.

"So, you've come to surrender then?" Alicent questioned. Rhaenyras gaze shifted to maeve. Holding her last remaining son close as aemond pressed an innocent kiss to her forehead.

"I have come to see if we may uncover some path towards peace." Rhaenyra corrected. "My dragons are restless. They smell battle. But if you and I may come to terms..."

"There are no terms now. You have no army, your allies turn from you when they hear of your depravity, your hands are bloodied in a crime I could never have imagined you..."

" The trespass was not mine." Rhaenyra corrected honestly. Alicent stared back at her in disbelief. "Ah, think what you will. I am a mother too and you have yet to answer for the murder of my son."

" I repudiate that act with all my heart."

" Of course, you do." Rhaenyra scoffed. "And the usurping of my rightful inheritance?" They silenced as someone came up to light a candle opposite them. "Have you now stooped so low that you will countenance the suffering and death of thousands, in order that your feckless son..."

"Your father changed his mind." Alicent corrected.

"Ali, im tired. Aemond is going to walk me back." Maeve decided.

"Of course my sweet." Alicent agreed. Rhaenyra begged silently for maeve to look at her but maeves head remained lowered. Alicent savored the moment of maeve hugging her. "I will see you after." She nodded. Maekars laughter filled the room as they left.

"You stole my crown and my daughter."

"You married her off to aegon. That was your bargain recall?" Alicent countered. "You wanted a truce. A daughter for a son." Rhaenyras lips pursed.

"And look what good it got her."

"Whos fault is that?" Alicent seethed in return.

"I saw the king that night. Mere hours before I left him, he had affirmed my right to the throne, a right he upheld steadfastly, every day of his life after my mother died." Rhaenyra corrected. "And yet, you will maintain that his mind was changed in an instant?"

"I will."

"You lie."

" No, Rhaenyra. " Alicent corrected.

"My father loved me, Alicent. And I believe he loved you, too. Did you betray him at the very last?" Rhaenyra rasped. "When was your plan first laid? Was your ambition so keen..."

"He changed his mind, Rhaenyra." Alicent demanded. "He changed his mind.
