It's not that he's trying to look strict, nor does he enjoy being strict.
Hoseok just somehow changes into a different person once he steps into the casino.
His cheerful smile fades, footsteps echoing in the quiet, looming place.
People bow to his presence with every step he takes, his eyes straight ahead and chin up in confidence.
One thing he hates is imperfections. If he's aware of a person's skills, he will do his best to hone them. It's his job after all, to help them learn.
He isn't biased. He just does what he's supposed to do and once his work is done, he's just normal. No strictness, no yelling, no harsh words—just him and his happy aura with a smile on his face, walking as if he had the best day ever with his footsteps no longer strict and paced fast. It's just J-hope.
It's his usual work, helping people as a manager. He has witnessed many trainees cry, quit, improve and everything in between but never this consistent level of failure. How did she even manage to become a trainee here?
Right.
Aera, he can tell that she has potential but he can't quite pinpoint what she can do.
Despite knowing that people have their own limits, she fails such simple tasks like assisting you, a friend of hers.
What is wrong with her? His greed for perfection is triggered. He needs to know what's wrong with this spoiled girl raised by her lovely rich family, working in a place like this. She isn't ordinary but he's disappointed by her lack of basic skills.
Is she that spoiled? Why work in a place like this anyway?
"Do you want to be fired?"
"What?" Aera's eyes look up at him, surprised at his sudden question then it soon changed into fear.
His eyes notices her shaking hands, knowing what she's thinking.
"Then show me your skills. Stop being such a spoiled little baby girl. You're in a casino, Ms. Aera. Haehit's Casino may I add, one of the top companies in Korea. Do you understand what I mean?" his sharp, harsh words pricked the girl before him but he doesn't care. She has to face reality and right now, she's failing training.
"I-i'm so—" the girl looks down in shame, tears threatening to fall. She's this weak huh?
"Sorry doesn't work in here if you want to pass. Why are you even here in the first place if you're just gonna cry and not show me what you can do?"
Aera keeps quiet, lips biting as she forced herself not to sob. She knows Hoseok is right. But she at least wants to have her own work rather than being dependent on her family. She's aware of her lack of skills and inexperience in this field. Hearing harsh words directed at her, she has never felt this sad and stressed before.
