Benny.

I rolled my eyes when I saw Blanca standing in front of my brother's car, Nico had lent it to me today because he didn't need it. I should have known better than to think I could get the hell out of here before she found me. "Let's get moving! I have some stuff do do before we get to mine and I don't trust you enough not to bail."

I could have slapped her but my parents taught me not to hit girls. I rolled my eyes unlocking the car and she got in the passanger seat. I sat down and put the key in the ignition before starting to drive.

About ten minutes later Blanca turned to me a confused look on her face, "are you eighty or something?" She asked disbelievingly.

I scowled, "no?"

"Then why do you drive like a grandmother?" She asked making a face at me.

"I'm driving the speed limit." I told her annoyed.

"You're driving under the speed limit, come on grow a pair and get moving!" Blanca ordered.

"I'm not speeding up. This is called catious driving, for someone who is usually so unbelievably uptight I would have thought that you'd appreciate this." I snapped at her. Who the hell did she think she was insulting my driving?

"First off, I am not uptight." Blanca ground out.

"You so are." I muttered back glaring at her.

"And secondly, I don't mind cautious driving but this is... well you might aswell be driving in reverse!" She argued. Then all of a sudden I felt her ballerina shoe shove down on my foot that was on the gas pedal making the car lurch forwards.

"BLANCA!" I shouted shoving her leg away, "are you completely insane?"

She started laughing uncontrollably as I parked my car, "we're getting out." I told her grabbing my key.

She frowned still laughing, "why?"

"Because I don't trust you in the passenger seat you psycho." I snapped opening my door.
Blanca snorted, "big baby."
"Rather a baby than roadkill." I muttered yanking her out of the car.
"I wouldn't have pegged you as so dramatic. But if you really insist then we'll walk." She told me rolling her eyes.

I quickly realised what a massive mistake that had been. I should have taken may chances with the car. Walking through our neighbourhood with Blanca was like walking through it with the Queen of England.

Every five second someone stopped her to talk or invited us inside or offered to help us with something or give us a lift. It too is forty minutes to do a twenty minute walk just because everyone wanted something from her.

And she seemed completely unbothered, if I'd been in her position I would have been exhausted by all of the attention but she remained perfectly smiley through the whole thing.

When we finally reached her house I couldn't get inside fast enough. "Do you pay their bills or something? Is that why they're so obsessed with you?" I asked her as we walked up to her room.

Blanca frowned, "no. I wouldn't expect you to understand this but kindness goes a long way. People like being appreciated."
I hated when she acted like I was totally devoid of affection just because I didn't bend over backwards trying to cater to everyone.

"Have you ever considered I'm not as much of a colossal ass as you think?" I asked her as we sat down at her desk.
"No." Blanca answered sitting down next to me and handing my my half of the things again.

"How's your brother?" She asked tapping her pencil against her bottom lip.
"Which one?" I asked although it was pretty obvious.
"Ty, Nico was here for dinner yesterday I know how he is." Blanca replied.

"He's fine, being a little brat per usual. It makes sense that the two of you get along." I told her. My parents wanted me to ask her to come baby sit for him again this Wednesday but out of pure spite I didn't want to tell her. How the hell did my own brother like her better than me.

At the same time at least he'd fun, ever since she'd taught him how to throw that stupid football he came along to the Sandlot every day to practice his throwing. He wouldn't shut up about how good she was.

"What are you doing next Wednesday?" I continued reluctantly.
She shrugged, "I have tennis until seven but after that I'm free, why?"
"My parents want to know if you can babysit Ty." I explained putting the numbers into my calculator a little aggressively.

"Sure. What time should I be there?" Blanca responded smiling.
"seven forty." I asked annoyed.
"Cool."

I turned back to my work but I couldn't help asking, "do you really like him or are you just doing this to be nice? I mean I love my brother but he can be a little shit sometimes."

Blanca laughed, "yeah I guess he can. But I do really like him I think it's funny how blunt he is. I can respect when people say it like it is."
That was a first, not many people appreciated Ty's attitude, but at least this wasn't another one of her community charity things to get her dad's attention. My brother didn't need her charity.

"How's your job? If you haven't been fired yet on account of poor service."
I asked her testily.
Blanca glared at me, "you know that last smoothie I gave you?"
"The one you told me to choke on?" I replied.
"We'll I spat in it." She snapped briskly.

We did the rest of the project in silence, she sat there furiously scribbling things down so hard her pencil snapped three times and I was trying my hardest not to gag at the idea that Blanca might have spat in my smoothie. I wouldn't have put it past her. That little brat.
