Blanca.
Furious didn't even begin to describe the way that I was feeling right now. That asshole had actually stood me up at the library! I knew he'd said it but I'd just assumed he was doing it to piss me off. Nika and Tilly shared amused looks at my furious face, "are you really going over there?" They asked me as we walked out of the library.
I nodded, "oh yeah. He is not getting off that easy. I am not doing this whole thing by myself, even if I wanted to I don't have the time now, thanks to my new job."
"I agree." Tilly said, "I don't think you should let him off so easy. I think Blanca should go in there and knock him down a few pegs."
Nika nodded, "one hunderd percent. If he thinks he can mess around with you then you should teach him a lesson. We broke off at the fork where out houses split and I stormed off down the pavement my boots clacking against the stone. Once I got to his house I plastered on my best smile, I had nothing against ther est of his family. Nico, his oldest brother was Alfie's best friend and the rest of them were sweet too. Besides snitching on him was a last, last resort. I didn't usually do it but for this I would, plus I hated him so it helped.
I knocked on the door and Nico opened it an amused look on his face, "oh shit. Alfie told me he stood you up," He laughed, "his room his the second one to the left when you get up the stairs."
"Thanks Nico!" I called over my shoulder as I walked into the house, I said hello to everyone quickly, even though I was mad didn't mean I couldn't be polite. But once I got up the stairs I was fuming again. I pounded on his bedroom door just in case he was in there and Denise was with him, I had no desire to see the two of them all over each other.
Then I ripped open the door, Benny groaned when he saw me, I closed it again behind me before shouting at him, "what the hell is wrong with you?!"
Benny.
I think this might be the angriest I'had seen Blanca with me in a while, there is no one that could get under her skin or in her head like I could. Even when I'm not trying. She was shouting at me in english and spanish the words blurring together. Luckily enough my psansih was just as good as hers so it didn't stop me from understanding what she was saying, which were mostly insults.
"I already told you I wasn't going to go what did you expect?" I asked her annoyed. It was nine in the evening couldn't this have waited until tomorrow?
She scowled, "what did I expect? Common decency perhaps?!"
I glared at her, "it's called having a life Blanca."
"A life? Really? All you do is play baseball all day around a sandy square of grass behind a junk yard? What about that exactly screams social life to you?" Blanca snapped her eyes flashing. "Now luckily for you I thought ahead and brought the material we need here, so we can get to work."
I gaped at her, was she serious. "Get out!"
She ignored me and sat down on my bed pulling textbooks and notepads out of her book. "We have to do the research outside of the lessons so that we can use our time in the lab on the actual experiment." Blanca told me uncraciously dumping my 'half' of the things into my lap.
"Esto es una locura y tú también." I muttered opening the notebook (this is insane and so are you). I knew she wasn't above snitching on me to my parents who adored her for unkown reasons, it was better to get this over with and get her the hell out of my room.
Blanca rolled her eyes, "Cuando consigas tu primer sobresaliente, me lo agradecerás." (When you get your first A you'll thank me).
I highly, highly doubted that.
The topic she had picked out wasn't entirely boring at least, I guess there were some interesting elements to it so it wouldn't be total torture. But she did make it clear that she was expecting me to put in the same amount of effort as her and I knew that that would start another argument since we had very different standards of what was a large effort.
Denise would have a fit right now if she saw Blanca in my room, she hates her. It's kind of funny actually. We're kind of in a weird place right now but we were in a weird phase a lot of the time, she was jealous I was careless, it was a repeting cycle. But at least I had someone, unlike little Miss Uptight across from me. It didn't surprise me one bit that she didn't have a boyfriend, although funnily enough half the school would jump at the chance.
"When are you free next?" Blanca asked when our hour and a half was finally finished.
I grimaced, there was no getting out of this was there? "How about wednesday after school this week, the time you suggested. I'll meet you in the library."
She nodded, "good. See you there."
Nico walked in about ten minutes later, "so how was it?" he asked smirking at me.
"Oh shut up." I replied annoyed.
"I really don't get why you don't like her she's hilarious. Who else do you know who'd hunt you down like this?" He asjed leaning against the door frame.
"That's exactly the reason I don't like her idiot, no one normal would show up at our house at night and demand a study session. yeah-yeah is so lucky he got Nika." I muttered.
"Please you need someone like her or you'll end up with a D again and Dad will ground you again." Nico pointed out reminding me of before the summer.
"Piss off Nico." I replied annoyed by his unfortunately true answer.
"You know I'm right dumbass." He called over his shoulder walking into his room.
Why couldn't I have been let off easy this once?
