Benny.

Blanca shot me a grin as she walked into our front yard the weekend after our weekend at school, she was hanging out with Ty today again. "Check it out!" She called waving to catch my attention. Blanca pulled a baseball out of her dress pocket and threw a fantastic fastball.

"Please tell me you didn't spend the whole staurtday learning about that." I said walking up to her.

Her smile dropped, "well that was not the response I was hoping for."

Yeah I knew which response she was hoping for and I wasn't about to give it to her because I didn't want to indulge her shit habit.

"Aren't we past this?" I asked her, didn't she know I knew her well enough now to A, see through this shit and B, not care if she couldn't throw a stupid fastball.

She huffed kicking her foot into the ground, "you were supposed to be impressed."

"Well I'm not." I replied my voice coming out a little harsher than intended. To her credit it was a fantastic fucking throw but it wasn't

That earned me a withering look, and Blanca storming off to where my brother was sitting on the porch, "ready to go?"

"Uhuh." Ty got up grabbing his football.

"Is Benny coming?" Ty asked her, although surprisingly it sounded like a question rather than a prayer that I wouldn't.

"Fat fucking chance." Blanca replied crossing her arms as she stormed back out off the front gate.

I should have felt bad, but I didn't, because I didn't want to go backwards from school and the fact that she had decided to she did annoyed me.

Blanca.

After hanging out with Ty I went straight to Nika's she was sitting in her kitchen making dinner for her brother. "Hey BB what's got you so down?" She asked pulling up a chair for me.

I groaned taking a seat, "I don't know what to do Nik, I don't understand what I'm doing wrong."

She turned the flame off under the pan and came to stand with me, "oh Beebs, what happned?"

Nika and Tilly were the only ones that called me that but I liked it, it was cosy. "I don't get him okay, I really don't get him. I learned how to throw a perfect fastball and he gave me shit for it. Why?"

She sat down beside me, "maybe it's because he's too smart for all the bullshit you like to make up."

"Hey." I said shoving her lightly, "don't insult my bullshit."

"You know I love you bullshit or not, but are you ever going to use that fastball?"

I shrugged, "I don't know, I could."

She snorted, "you know you're never going to need it."

I sighed, "I just, ugh, I wanted to impress him and he was such a dick after."

"Okay well the dick thing is unpresedented, but I'm impressed that he called you out." Nika said putting her arm around me, "he doesn't care about your bullshit, he wants your you-shit." She snickered before saying, "or maybe he just wants you."

"Ew, Nika!" I cringed, "and you're wrong, he doesn't want me. I don't even really knows what he wants, I can't get a read on the guy."

Now she looked surprised, "really? Not even a little bit?"

I nodded, "yeah, I genuinely have no idea what goes through his mind, whereas with you I could probably tell you what you're thinking about at any given moment."

"Alright, now's to obvious but we'll test it later. Just shout it out." She said, "and he so wants, he'd be stupid not to, take a look at yourself Blanca. You're hot."

I laughed and winked at her, "so are you. Why is it so easy with you and Yeah-yeah, why am I so fucked up."

"Believe me, you know I'm just as fucked up as you Beebs, unlike you only my closest friends see my fucked up side, whereas you project your fucked upside to the whole world and save yourself for us." Nika reassured me, "and we're not perfect, because I have no idea how to let him in."

I leaned over to high five her, "same."

Tilly and George were so lucky.

"So do you like him?"

"No." I replied quickly, "I don't know what's going on."

"But you like to be around him." She pushed waggling her eyebrows at me.

"I guess." I replied twsiting my hair around my finger. "I guess I'm just not used to anyone who's not you guys actually caring. People like fake me, I'm easy to get along with I do stuff for them why would they want me to be any different?"

"Because people are fucking assholes." Nika muttered pulling up her knees so that they were tucked to her chest.

I couldn't help agree.

Only our asshles were slightly different, because Nika's issues came from inside the house, that had only started for me a couple months ago, usually I had the best relationship with my parents. Her Dad on the other hand had up left her family in the dust before they'd moved here when she was eleven. That asshole had royalled screwed her up.

"Wanna stay for dinner and watch trash movies?" She asked resting her chin on her knees.

"Definitely." I agreed relieved, "but we should do it with tubs of ice cream too."

"One each?"

"Maybe two?"

"We're depressing me." She mumbled walking back to the stove, "I wish I could be as happy and shiney as Tilly all the time. She must have so much fun in life."

I nodded, "me too. She's such a ray of sunshine, I'm jealous. Let's call her."

"Let's, we need our sunshine back."

I leaned over and grabbed the phone punching in her number, she picked up almost instantly, "hello?"

"Hey Til, it's me Blanca."

"Oh hey Chickie what's up?" She asked brightly.

"I'm at Nika's and we're spiralling want to come and cheer us up?" I asked tiredly.

"Omg always, I'm coming! And I'm bringing cookies and candy floss and an unlimited supply of rom com movies." She trilled, I laughed when I heard a thud as she tripped over herself in her haste to gather her things. "Give me ten minutes Beebs!"

True to her word Tilly was here in ten minutes but only because she sprinted across like fifty red lights an almost got hit by a car. She burst into the kichen envolping both of us in a hug.

We hugged her back tightly, "hey Tilly."

"What's got you two so down?" She asked hopping up on the kitchen counter.

"Who do you think?" Nika asked jerking her head in my direction a small smirk growing on her face.

Tilly snickered, "your new favourite school sleepover buddy perhaps?"

I made a face at her, "very funny asshole. But he's being a bitch right now so you can lose the word buddy."

Nika snorted, "no he isn't. He saw right through her and she's pissed that he called her out on it."

"He just gets better." Tilly murmmured approvingly. "What about you Nika?"

"My Dad." She replied shrugging.

Tilly scowled, "ugh. Let's not talk about those morons, lets watch some Pretty Woman."

That sounded like a much better option than wollowing in my own pathetincess.
