Chapter 10

Link ate his produce and drank some of his water and smiled at the mother and child. He was grateful that he was able to provide them with proper food and water.

"If either of you want more, just say the word. There's plenty for everyone." Link said.

"Thank you, Mr. Link!" Hope said.

"Yes, we appreciate the kind gesture." Ina said.

Link smiled at Hope and Ina with a nod,

"Of course. My pleasure."

Link looked up at the clouds as they passed by, letting his friends enjoy their meal.

Such a beautiful afternoon... he thought in his mind. His mind then wandered back to Hope playing earlier. He did make a promise, though he never imagined any child would want to explore inside his ear. It made him crack a smile.

----- 2 days later -----

At the castle, it's nearly dusk and Dark Link is pacing in his room.

He'd been reading in the library about different illusion spells he could use to lure Hope and capture her. He found a couple that could work, and he also had an idea of how to capture Ina, but he would wait until it was dark before leaving, that way he could blend in with the shadows better.

"That brat won't be able to resist this. Then I could probably use this to lure in her mother. I Just hope that these past few days of practicing walking more quietly won't turn out to have been a waste of time." Link growled.

Meanwhile, back In the forest, Link was pretending to be a fierce dragon, carefully 'swiping' at Hope as it was her duty to save her mother, the captured queen.

Hope is holding a big stick and pretended to pierce at Link with a few jabs as he's "swiping' at her. Hope shouted playfully,

"Surrender, dreaded dragon! I'm here to take back Queen Mommy!"

Ina is behind Link and laughed at them playing.

Then Hope 'stabbed' her stick onto Link's belly.

"Oh! Oh, agh! Oh help!" Link cried out playfully after being 'stabbed' in the belly. "How could this have happened? Bested by a puny knight! Ohhhh....blehhhh...."

Link rolled onto his back and closed his eyes, sticking his tongue out as he played dead.

She giggles so much from Link's exaggerated acting. Hope climbed right on top of his belly and bounced up and down on top of it as a sign of her triumph and shouted playfully,

"Victory is mine! I have saved the day! Yay me! Yay me! Yay me!"

Link couldn't play dead for very long as Hope's bouncing on his belly actually tickling him a bit, making him laugh.

"H-hey, he-he-hey! Hahaha! Come on now, no ticklin'! Hahahahahahaha!!" he laughed, bouncing her a bit like a trampoline.

Hope lost her footing and is giggling loudly as Link bounced her around on top of his belly and she shouted while having fun,

"Higher! Higher!"

"Okay, you little squirt. You wanna go there?" Link grinned.

He used two fingers to gently tickle her tummy and her sides. Hope gasped as Link attacked her back with tickles. She squealed and laughed while struggling to push Link's fingers away.
