NOW PLAYING: Not A Lot, Just Forever
By Adrianne Lenker

Through your eyes, I see
A smile you bring to me
To your joy, I tether
Not a lot, just forever
Intertwined, sewn together
Like the rock bears the weather
Not a lot, just forever
My dog barks wildly
To protect my infant
From my ex-believer
And I try to calm the wolf
To remind her I am both
Still she tears at my sweater
Not a lot, just forever
Intertwined, sewn together
As the wren sheds her feather
Not a lot, just forever
And your dearest fantasy
Is to grow a baby in me
I could be a good mother
And I wanna be your wife
So I hold you to my knife
And I steal your letter
Not a lot, just forever

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ THE BRIGHT light of the sun streamed down from the clouds and through the stores window. Unluckily enough for Evin the sun beamed right into his eyes. He groaned, annoyed that he was woken up so early. He rubbed his eyes groggily as he slowly started rising to a sitting position.

Only then did Evin come to realise there was a not so neatly makeshift pillow that was previously under his head. He was no longer in the same position he was in before when he went to sleep last night which was a given as he often moves around quite a bit in his sleep. But surely he would have woken up if he moved to a laying down position, right?

Evin glanced over at Carl seeing how he was already awake, looking back at him. As quickly as Evin noticed the other looking at him Carl quickly looked away and acted as if nothing happened. Evin watched as Carl stumbled up to his feet and slowly, as to not wake the other two up, walked over to the window.

Evin watched carefully as Carl placed his hat back onto his head and simply gazed out of the window. Luckily by now the roads were walker free. Meaning they could all leave now. Also meaning Evin wouldn't have to sleep on this God awful floor anymore. It really took a number on his back,
you know?

Evin shuttered at the thought of having to sleep one more night in the store. A loud rumbling nose was heard making Carl glance over at Evin. He rolled his eyes before looking back out of the window. Evin's face went bright red from embarrassment as he looked down at his stomach and patted it awkwardly. Of course it had to rumble when everything
was silent.

With his face still very much red he got up from the floor and dusted his pants off. He sighed heavily before walking off into different aisles trying to find some food and water. Thankfully or not so thankfully the only appealing thing he could find was a packet of crackers and luckily six bottles of water. He grabbed the water bottles, holding them in both his hands. He walked over to where Carl was and placed the water bottles on the wooden table.

"Found some water" Evin explained. Carl looked over at him then down at the water bottled. He shrugged his shoulders before looking away again. Evin groaned, annoyed with the way Carl was acting. They just saw each other again after six years not even twenty four hours ago and he was already acting all holier-than-thou.
