Aria had been sick for the past week, so Charlie had forced her to stay home from school and hang out with Jacob.

The green eyed girl's illness was strange considering she was only vomiting, she had no other signs of having the flu, not even a stomach ache or fever.

At first Charlie had been worried that she was pregnant but that concern left him when Aria had swore to her father she was a virgin and had even offered to have the doctors look her over to give the chief a peace of mind.

She started to feel better but was saddened to hear from Bella that Jacob seemed to have gotten sick when they went to see a movie with some of Bella's friends last weekend.

Aria and Bella had both tried to get in contact with the long haired teen but was always met with Billy informing them he hadn't gotten better.

"Hi Jakie, I was just wondering if you've gotten any better. Uncle Billy says that it's not the Flu but you somehow got mono...I ju-We just wanted to see if you're feeling any better and if we could possibly visit..." Aria stumbled over her words as she spoke to the Blacks answering machine. "Could you please just call me-or Bella...just, anything." She mumbled before she hung up the phone and turned to her expecting sister with a defeated shake of her head causing the older girl to huff in annoyance.

That night Aria was seated at her vanity, braiding her hair when she noticed that she was losing hair as she braided, strings of her hair was getting stuck to her fingers, she had noticed her hair was shedding more in the shower as well

"What's happening?" She whispered to herself as she threw the ball of hair into the trash and laid down in her bed with Ellayla at her side.

Meanwhile, Bella was pacing in her own room, not wanting to sleep/dream of Edward. She eyes her cellphone for a moment, urgently hoping it would ring, but second later she relents and dials.

"Me again...I just...need to hear your voice..." she says meekly and hangs up as she runs a frustrated hand through her hair.

That weekend the sisters are in the kitchen while their father and his friend Harry Clearwater are getting their gear ready for a day of fishing.

Bella is again calling Jacob as her desperation is reaching its peak only for Billy to answer the phone this time.

"Hello?"

"Hi Billy, it's Bella. I was just calling to see how Jacob's doing and if he's up for visitors? Aria and I were thinking about dropping by."

Aria perked up when Bella had gotten through as more times than not no one answered the phone when they called.

That positivity was short lived when she saw her older sister's shoulder slump in defeat. "I'm sorry, Bella." Billy interrupted her and she wondered if he was watching TV as he sounded distracted. "He's not here."

"Oh, so he's feeling better?"

""Yeah," Billy hesitated for an instant too long. "Turns out it wasn't mono after all. Just some other virus. He's giving some friends a ride up to Port Angeles,  I think they were going to catch a double feature or something. He's gone for the whole day."

"Well, that's a relief. I've been so worried. I'm glad he felt good enough to get out." Bella's voice sounded horribly phony as she babbled on.

Aria felt hurt as she heard Bella's side of the conversation, it was obvious that Jacob was feeling better but he didn't contact either one of them. She sat in a daze as Bella hung up the phone.

"Harry and I will be back by three." Charlie informs his daughters and stops when he sees the looks of desperation and sadness on their faces along with some concern at how pale his youngest had started to look. "It's just mono girls." he gently tells them.
