Baran woke up to his cell phone ringing. He looked around, a little disoriented. It was dark outside still. "Baran, who is calling at this hour?" Dilan asked with a sleepy voice. He checked the phone screen and saw Kerem's name on it. "What happened?" He asked his friend. By now, Dilan was sitting and turning on the lamp light. "Baran, someone entered the company, more specifically, your office. The safe was opened. I don't know what they searched for, but everything is a mess here. I think you should come." Baran knew what they were looking for. "I'll be right there." He dropped his phone and got out of bed. "Baran?" He went to her side of the bed, and after kissing her, he said. "Someone got into my office. The police and Kerem are there. They need me to see if anything was taken..." She attempted to get up. "I'm coming with you." He stopped her. "There is nothing to worry about, my angel. I'll be fast. In a few hours, we have the launch. At least one of us should be rested." She reluctantly agreed. "Let me know if anything happens." He nodded and headed for the bathroom to change. He tried to be as quiet as possible, although, knowing his wife, she would not sleep until she heard from him. He got in his truck and drove fast to the company. Because of the hour, there was no traffic to deal with. The city was semi-quiet. He could see the city lights shining bright as he drove down the coastline, and their reflection in the water was like diamonds. Baran touched his suit jacket. It was still there. The reason for the break-in was in his pocket. He was met at the entrance by his friend. Okhan is waiting for us upstairs."

"Baran!" His friend came to meet him. Baran shook his hand and took a look around. As Kerem had told him, papers were all over the place. The portrait he had on his desk of his wedding day was on the floor, the glass broken. His computer was turned on. But they could not break the password. "Can you tell if something was taken?" Okhan inquired. Baran moved his head sideways. From what he could tell, even the content of the safe was there. Mostly company papers, Baran kept whatever had value for him at home. "Nothing, but I can guess what this was about." Kerem frowned and, after observing Baran, came to the same conclusion. "Baran, the central piece of the collection. You told me it was in the safe." Baran nodded. "It was, but you called me last night when I was about to place it there. For some reason, I put the piece on my suit, and good thing I did." After Okhan's team left the space, Baran went to his desk and tried to put things together. "Who could have done this? Do you have any idea, Baran?" Kerem answered. "Whoever it was, the motive is clear..." Baran finished for him. "To make the launch fail and to put us in a difficult position with the investors..." Kerem agreed and said. "That list is short." It was very short—only two names in it. "Very well, we will interview the people in the company. I'll let you know of any developments." Okhan left, and Baran did the same with Kerem. "There is not much to think here. Any of them is capable of doing this..." Baran cut himself mid-sentence. A few seconds later, he ran away.

"Baran! Baran! What is going on?" Baran had a bad feeling. What if they try to search for the piece in the mansion? Or what if the break-in at the company was a distraction to get to his family? He got in the truck, which roared as he pressed the accelerator. He needed to get home fast. He didn't have time to explain to Kerem. He needed to ensure Dilan and everyone else were okay. The thought of his family's safety being at risk sent a chill down Baran's spine, and he pushed the truck to its limits, desperate to reach home. He didn't even take the time to park or turn off the engine. A security guard came running to him. "Mr. Baran." Baran looked around. "Has anyone entered the mansion after I left?" The guard made a no gesture with his head. "No, no one." Without wasting another second, he entered the house. Everything was dark and quiet. The first place he went to was his room. He turned on the light. Dilan was not there. "Dilan?" He went down the corridor, desperate. He searched the living room from the top floor. His eyes focused on a ray of light coming from the kitchen. He headed downstairs in that direction and found Dilan. She was heating milk on the stove. "Dilan!" Baran went to his wife and hugged her tight. Then they heard a noise. They looked at each other. Baran put his finger over his lips, letting Dilan know she needed to be quiet. He signaled her to stay, but Dilan refused with her head. With no time to argue, he decided it was best to have her where he could see her. He took her hand, and with her, they walked down to the living room floor—more noise. Baran stopped. He wanted to figure out where it was coming from. Again, the noise... His study.
