"This is probably gonna hurt." I winced loudly as rubbing alcohol was poured over the deep cuts on my hands.

"I'm Junior, by the way." The mysterious man that now became the man known as Junior said, "What brings you to Raintree?"

"Why should I tell you?" My head tilted slightly in curiosity, "I barely know you."

"Doesn't mean you can't find out." A smirk spread across his lips and for some reason I feel my cheeks starting to grow hot.

"Oh, my god! Are you okay?" A woman with almost a pixie haircut said while walking over to me, her eyes holding concern and worry.

"I'm fine," I said with a shy smile, "Really, I am."

The sound of the front door opening caused all of our heads to turn around, coming to see Pablo with a look on his face that could only mean that things weren't so great.

"How is she?" I try not to practically jump out of my chair until the woman rested her hand on my shoulder in a comforting way, "The emergency vet just picked her up, it doesn't look too good."

"When can I see her?" I look towards the woman and Pablo with a glint of sadness in my eyes, "They're taking the horse into surgery. They won't be done until four in the morning.

"Perfect," I said while getting up, brushing off the woman's hand on my shoulder which left me with a tingling sensation, "Let me get finished up getting wrapped and you can take me? Right, Pablo?"

"Jean, why don't you take Spencer to the trailer to get settled in and get some sleep." Pablo's eyes shifted towards the woman next to me, "There is no use to worry yourself to death, Spenc."

My blood began to boil for some reason; I found that horse. That's my horse! They expect me to sit back and wait? Hell, no!

"Your joking . me, right?" My tone came off completely sarcastic, "I found that horse! I was the one who saved her! You expect me to sit her and wait when you know that's the last thing I'm gonna do."

Quickly wrapping some white bandage cloth around my other hand, I storm past Pablo and towards the door. I was turned around on my feet fast enough to almost lose my balance until I realized that it was Junior who was holding me up right from falling on my ass, "Look, I get it. Trust me, I do."

"But going into the ER with steam blowing out of your ears is not going to help you or the horse." His voice was soft, like he was speaking to only me when others were clearly in the room, "Let me take you to your trailer, let you get set up. And if you still want to see the horse, forget what Pablo said, I'll take you myself. Okay?"

Locking eyes with a mysterious brown haze I felt my body start to slowly relax, my muscles stopped fighting each other and my breathing started to slow, "How can I trust you."

My voice was barely above a whisper, I'm surprised that he even heard me, "You're going to just have to trust me."

Shifting my gaze over to Pablo and Jean, he gives me a reassuring nod to accept Junior's offer, "Fine..., but don't make me regret it."

Junior smiles at looks down at his feet shyly, "Wouldn't risk it."

He opens the door behind me and he nods towards outside, I take a few steps backwards without tripping on something and allow him to past me.

"There's a pay phone by the stables if you need one." Pablo said as he walked outside with us towards the trailer that was parked in somewhat of the middle of the grounds.
