I walked with ethina to the garden. She was sleeping peacefully, craddled in my arms. She looked like an angel, how luck her parents are to have her.
Thinking this I kissed her Rosy cheeks."She is comfortable.." the kings rough voice came from behind.
"Hmmm ..." I replied not wanting to continue any conversation with him." So you don't want to talk to me .. I see" he came and stood in front of me, his hand behind and a unimpressed frown on his face.
"About time you noticed.." I smiled at the baby not looking at him and went on to sit on the bench near the apple tree.
The same tree that tore my wedding dress when I was escaping front he broken wall.Sitting, my eyes went to the now bricked wall that once had a gateway to my freedom.
My shoulders in knowingly lowered, I was saddened. The king was looking at me, he is hadn't moved from his place.
His eyes trying to read through me.
" The wall has been built stronger this time" he started again but I didn't want to hear, didn't want to know how I will be caged here for the rest of my life.My eyes welled, how lucky was ethina to be this loved and this innocent, to be free.
I got up immediately and went out of the garden, making sure Ethina doesn't wake up.
I found Ethina's room and put her on her craddled like wooden bed. It brought a smile to my face by how cute she looked sleeping there like a princess
"Rest my love"
I lovingly kissed her forehead and went out of the room.
I had to clear my mind. The dead line was near and the king would expect me to be in his room as his wife soon. I had to get myself prepare mentally.Otherwise the humans will die and I will be the reason for it.
Aina in the dungeon.
It was dark the walls promised misery and the rats ran haphazard here and there. There was no sign of sunlight or light at all. No wonder being underground made this place a living hell.
It was difficult reaching here, I had to use my status with the guards at the palace but eventually they showed me the way. May be they thought how could their weak human queen could rebel against them.
It was heart breaking to know how humans were being kept here. I just hope they were fed well because the least I can remember when I last met them, there were children too. Poor children always were the one to pay for the mistakes adults made."Ouch...!!!" I yelped. A sharp stone pierced through my shoe and blood started trickling down the new wound I just got. I stood by the wall and tried to pull at whatever was impinging my sole heel.
"Luna... It's dark, I warned you not to come." the gruff voice of the soldier came from front, who was quiet until now throughout our whole journey from the upper grounds to this basement. He seemed u bothered but his eyes tell a different story, knowing he was to answer anything that happened
"I am fine, tell me how long will it take to reach them Sir" I asked trying to walk steadily with a bloody feet.
"Here we are" he suddenly stopped in front of a door.
"Here" he opened the door and signaled me to go in."Only 10 minutes and then we will be out Luna" the soldier bowed and closed the door.
As I entered in the room, the first thing I noticed was the dimly lit room and the enormous amount of people sitting by the walls. They seemed scared and confused.
Young children hiding behind their mothers and the men injured but trying their best to shield the weak and women."Who are you? The dog king has sent you to kill us right?" A woman came forward, her eyes red of furry.
"No.. I am like you ... I am human" i tried to touch her but she pushed me away so hardly I landed on my injured toe.
"You.. you seem healthy, satiated and quenched from every thirst and hunger a human is going through right now.. you cannot be one of us" she shook her head and walked back.
"I am Aina.. I was the one you saw at the balcony
..." I tried to say but before that a huge man came and grabbed me by my neck."Of course.. u r the human whore the king has gotten himself yeah??? Don't you think we are thankful for ur help. Just get us out or else we won't forgive you. You already have betrayed your kind by warming his bed... Hahahah." He smiled bitterly and looked at me up and down
"But at least hurry up giving him a bastard of yours and not make us hate you and kill you so that we can live here safely" he ended and left me roughly.
"I thought we could plan something together and l.. Lea..leave here for a better place..." I looked at all of them hopefully, begging them with my silence to not make me be with him.
" It's your fate..." the women with mad eyes screeched again.
"Whores like you are meant to be sacrificed..haha. don't worry you won't suffer for long, I have heard these creatures are too strong for humans, it will be a miracle if you remain alive to see your first born" she said nonchalantly while sitting on a chair and eating something out of the plate as if it wasn't a life she was talking about as if she wasn't a women.
I couldn't hear this anymore. I had come to find solace in my kind. But here I am hearing the most venomous things ever said to woman.
It was always like this why did I have to give always?? Why did I always had to be the one to sacrifice and be left with nothing. But like always I was gonna do this again, like always not for those selfish adults but the children they sheltered, the innocent beings...
It was time to meet my husband now, it was time to be his ... Dead or Alive....
