Chapter 32

His Pov.

I was sitting in my office, the same room my mate burnt a month ago. It was almost night and I came to know she went to visit her human friends.
How fool she was, to believe they will think good of her or even hear her. It was them who offered her to me in the first place and proposed this deal. Poor Aina.
I should have backed down but it was my right to claim. How could I leave something that belonged to me for years.

She will understand one day that what I did may not be love but it wasn't greed too.
She needed to understand the difference between greed and need.
I was greedy yes for her touch but I was in need of her more than anything. Love is a literary being that comes to you in your dream. My need for her never let me sleep and that's what I wanted her to understand.

Seeing her with Ethina showed how much she cared about strangers. This selflessness could make her the most vulnerable yet most powerful Luna.

"Ahhh what do I do with you my love" I sighed rubbing my forehead.

Knock knock....

The door to my office opened and in walked herself. Drenched in sweat, she still looked ethereal and beautiful.

I stood up and went towards her slowly, looking at her condition rather amusingly.
Her hairs were dishelved, breath heavy and lips twitching like she was near to cry.

" I. .. I am.. ready" she looked at me and ever so slowly said something I was dying to hear but couldn't believe it.

I was dumbfounded and looked at her blankly.

"Pardon?" I raised my eyes.
Her eyebrows creased, and a painful expression crossed her face.

"I mean ... Ugh ..um I am ready to start new with you.."
she finished and took a deep breath.
She looked at me, waiting for my response.

"So? ..." She pressed.

So much was rushing in but I had to halt it. This was my chance, whatever made her do this had to be very serious but I couldn't wait any longer now. She will learn to love me one day. But before that I had to bind her to me.

"Ok.. tonight.. you will sleep in my chambers" I slowly said and closed the distance between us.

"Are you expecting me to ... to.. something from me???" She asked.
I knew what she wanted to ask. If I was going to sleep with her tonight.
But I wanted her to say it.

"No?? Do you wanna give me something? " I asked in return.

She was irritated now.
Her eyes throwing daggers at me.

"Ok!!! Stop right now?! Stop playing all this games. I want to ask if you are going to consummate our marriage tonight or not" she said and looked at me with red cheeks.

Silence.

I didn't expect her to say this so loud but guess she is full of surprises.

" Yes" I answered finally.
Her eyes widened, lips trembled. I could feel her sadness.
But now our union was long over due. It was time to be together mate.

"Fine.., any preferences, dress perfume??" She asked brokenly. I hated myself for this but I had to this for us.

How I wanted to destroy everything including myself for making her cry.

"No just be ready in my room after dinner" I said and left the room, without turning back.
