Kim Dokja started a new life, he ended up living in the luxurious mansion of the most powerful esper, Yoo Joonghyuk. Now, every day he must follow the same routine as the s-rank Esper, training hard every morning. At least he had his own bedroom and bathroom, and he made good money too.
As a former salaryman, Kim Dokja lacked stamina and muscle mass, because before all he did was sit in front of a computer all day. Not to mention that in his free time he never exercises his body at all. In Yoo Joonghyk's training room, there were all kinds of equipment, weights, etc. Joonghyuk mainly asked him to hold them to warm up a little, but they were much heavier than he could imagine, maybe even double or triple his weight!
"How do you expect me to train with such heavy weights?" Kim Dokja complained.
"With effort and patience." Joonghyuk gave a dry answer.
"But-"
Yoo Joonghyuk didn't let his guide tell him no, this was also for his protection! One of the important guidelines in your role as a guide.
After 40 push-ups, squats, sit-ups, Kim Dokja felt sore. Every day he felt like a hundred needles were pricking his skin, he was tired and sore, and his arms felt heavy too.
Joonghyuk monitored on Kim Dokja's progress. Once the guide has a normal amount of stamina, he will begin the next training, a much harder and more complicated one, which will involve the use of his powers
In the blink of an eye two months passed and Kim Dokja could notice the change in his body, he felt much healthier and gained some muscles. Now he was ready to begin the real training, so he could finally follow Yoo Joonghyuk to the battlefield and defeat the Errors that emerged from the portals that appear around the world.
A portal has a structure similar to a black hole, but instead of sucking in the nearest object, they generate and shape what is in its center, the more portals exist in a space, the more chaotic it becomes, and therefore, an army of monsters emerge.
Yoo Joonghyuk could clear and stabilize the portals. However, this hasn't happened lately, due to him not having a guide by his side, but now that Kim Dokja has become his companion, Joonghyuk can continue his duty as an esper.
...
Today they went out to start the real training, both men were walking side by side down the street, when suddenly the warning alarm sounded, making them stop in their tracks.
An alarm was given before the first attacks or the final blow to the battle. If there was one now, it means that another portal had opened. In the distance there were sounds of explosions, loud growls, gunshots, people crying, screams, along with black smoke and red fog.
This situation was familiar to Kim Dokja.
Even being still, without fear on his face or in his gestures, inside his heart he trembled. He was a guide, compared to before, when he was a simple civilian, now he must sacrifice his life for others, fighting alongside his esper Yoo Joonghyuk.
"Come on, Kim Dokja, the portal has opened in the nearby area." Yoo Joonghyuk prepared himself and ran as fast as he could.
"Wa- Wait for me!" Kim Dokja shouted with a note of resentment in his tone.
It wasn't fair! His life became more exciting and what could happen to him is that he could die from the beginning. It was fear and adrenaline pumping through his body, urging him to run. Even after he had used up all his energy and his lungs were hurting. He no longer had the chance to think about the past. Everything happens for a reason and at this moment, Kim Dokja wanted to ask what the hell was going on right now.
