Chloe and her family were alone in the manor, as the others had gone to look for help. They all wondered why their great-grandmother’s painting was in this manor, which none of them knew about. They began searching for more clues in the living room. Emma found a parchment with something written in Greek. Luckily, Chloe's mom knew the language and read it aloud:
"Dear Diary,
Today, I am going to make my will. I am trying to hide the fact about this manor from my family as it has many mysteries and has only brought misfortune to the family. But somehow, I want my future generations to solve those mysteries I couldn't, so I wish they find this letter and search the house for more clues."
"Ooh, that's some interesting stuff," Emma said. But their father cut her off. "Don't think much about it. Didn’t you hear? It has only brought misfortune."
"But Dad, it is great-grandma's wish that we solve this mystery. Could we just look for clues and, if unsuccessful, give up? But we shouldn't give up without trying, right? Please allow us," pleaded Chloe.
Chloe's mom and dad exchanged glances and then nodded. Emma and Chloe jumped in happiness.
