As Victoria and Helena closed in, you could feel the tension thickening in the Whispering Woods. Chloe and her buddies braced themselves for a showdown, their hearts pounding. But fate had other plans in store.
Out of the blue, Helena's phone buzzed with an urgent message. Her expression shifted from determination to worry as she read the news. "Max got attacked," she blurted out, her voice tinged with concern.
Victoria, unfazed by the news, brushed it off. "He'll be fine. We've got more pressing matters to deal with," she said coldly, her focus fixed on the journal in Chloe's hands.
Caught between her loyalty to Victoria and her worry for Max, Helena hesitated. And that split second of indecision was all Chloe and her crew needed. Seizing the opportunity, they made a run for it, darting into the dense foliage of the woods.
Victoria cursed under her breath, torn between going after the fleeing group and tending to her injured ally. In the end, her greed won out, and she chose to chase Chloe and her friends, leaving Helena to handle Max's situation.Meanwhile, Chloe and her gang schemed through the complex woods, putting as much distance as they could between themselves and Victoria. They emerged from the woods, breathless but unscathed, and headed towards the Enchantress's Library, as Georgia Willington's journal had pointed them to.
The library was a hidden gem, tucked away in the heart of the ancient city. Its walls were lined with countless books, each shelf holding volumes that seemed to whisper secrets of the past. Chloe and her friends split up, each taking a different aisle, scanning the spines with eager eyes, hoping to stumble upon a clue.
Sophie, with her sharp eye for detail, spotted a book that seemed out of place. Its title, "The Moonlit Meadows," caught her attention, and she remembered it being mentioned as the second location on the map. She called Chloe over, bubbling with excitement, and showed her the book.
As they opened it, the first page presented them with a riddle, its words dancing across the page:
"Meadows in the dark, with melodies at three,
Where the moon's embrace reveals what cannot be seen.
Seek the heart of the glade, where shadows play,
There, the secret lies, come what may."Chloe and Sophie deliberated the riddle, trying to decipher its meaning. It was clear that the Moonlit Meadows held the next piece of the puzzle, but how to find it remained a mystery.
In the midst of their brainstorming, Emma and Liam joined them, their curiosity piqued by the mention of the Moonlit Meadows. Together, they discussed the possible meanings of the riddle, their theories becoming more wild and imaginative with each passing minute.
And in the midst of their brainstorming, Chloe had a lightbulb moment. "The melodies at three... could that mean three o'clock in the morning? Maybe the meadows only reveal their secrets under the moonlight at a specific time."
The group agreed it was worth investigating. They decided to take a break and get ready for a nighttime expedition to the Moonlit Meadows. With the riddle partially solved, they felt a renewed sense of purpose.
As they left the library, the weight of their adventure settled upon them. They knew Victoria and her gang were still out there, and the race to find the Enchantress's Treasure.
