4th Week

After an exhausting week at the camp, Kiara returned to her flat in the evening. She should have felt relieved, but her mood was sullen. Because earlier that day, before coming back, she had lost a patient.

A woman died while giving birth of her twins , though losing a patient is a harsh reality every doctor faces , But the sting of loss never dulled. Each time it happened, it hurt just as much as the first.

So , She decided to head to the terrace of their apartment, hoping the open sky and fresh air might ease her troubled mind. As she climbed the stairs and neared the top, she heard the soft strumming of a guitar. The gentle, soothing notes floated through the air, wrapping around her like a comforting embrace.

Reaching there she saw Sahil sitting near the edge, his guitar resting lightly against his hip, fingers deftly plucking the strings.
She approached him quietly, not wanting to disturb him and stood there.

Sahil turned slightly, a bright smile came on his lips, " Hey ! " he replied .

" hi ...uhm ...sorry if I disturbed Sahil , I just heard the tunes, So ..." she said apologetically

" Areh ! No no ! Why would you disturb me ! Come sit na ! " Sahil replied

" Um no , I think you continue , I'll come later..." She turned leave but Sahil's fingers curled around held wrist,Kiara, startled by the sudden contact, turned to face him.

" Wait A-Kiara ! I'm fine , Please come na ! Even I'd get bored alone !! " He said soft .

" huh ? "

"sit ! ..."

" Okay "

Sahil noticed the sadness in her eyes and set his guitar aside, turning fully to face her, " Ahm ! What's wrong ? " he asked, his voice filled with concern.

" Huh ? Nothing! ....Nothing much ! " She replied staring at the city lights in front of her .

" Sure ? See you can tell me Kiara ok !  becuase I ain't a judgy pados wali Aunty, right ? " He nudged her .

She sighed deeply, the weight of the day's events pressing heavily on her.
" Lost a child patient today at the camp," she admitted, her voice trembling. " I just think I should have done something more..."

" Hey...why would you think like that ! " he said gently, reaching out to take her hand. " Trust me , I am sure you did everything you could have done at that time. But You kmow what sometimes, despite our best efforts, things are beyond our control. Right ? "

She hummed and nodded looking at their hands in daze. His hand was firm yet gentle, and the connection sent a pleasant shiver up her spine. It was comforting, familiar, like she had known this touch before. There was an undeniable spark, a current of energy that passed between them. Her heart skipped a beat, the sorrow momentarily giving way to a budding sense of something more.

" But... " she looked down , So he bend his head to meet her eyes and asked ,

" but ? You're just feeling bad ? "
