Chapter 24

Jisoo P.O.V.

"Why don't you girls hang out in Chaeyoung's room as I start making dinner?" Chaeyoung's brother says.

I nod and look at Chaeyoung who is busy giving her brother death glares. Eventually, she notices I'm waiting for her and she leads me to her bedroom. We go inside her room and I look around. I smile at the way Chaeng's room really resembles her.

"You really like pink, I'm assuming?" I ask with a chuckle

I turn to her and see how she gets shy, but tries to hide it. I frown at the fact that she doesn't want me to see her getting shy, but then smile again when she turns to me.

"Specifically baby pink" she replies and walks forward to her bed.

I stay where I am, not wanting to be rude.

She gets on her bed and turns to me, I smile awkwardly.

"You can get on the bed" she gives me permission

I nod and head to sit on the edge of her bed. I look around again and notice the pictures on the wall. One of them is of a young Chaeyoung in between her, also young at the time, brothers. A smile forms on my lips as I stare at Chaeyoung in that picture.

She's always been so adorable.

"How did you find me?" Chaeng asks, breaking the silence.

"Well I just remembered you're a chipmunk, and chipmunks are usually in parks" I tell her while looking at her.

"I' m not a chipmunk!" she whines

I laugh at her cute reaction. She pouts and looks away.

"Baby, don't be angry" I tell her

She doesn't reply or look back.

"Chaeng, can I ask you something?"

"What is it?" she asks, turning to me

"Why didn't you go immediately home? What were you doing at the park?" I proceed to ask

For a minute, she stays silent. Instead of speaking up, I wait for her.

"I wanted to take a break and just relax at the park"

I stare into her eyes and get a feeling that she's saying the truth.

"It wasn't because of what I said, was it? I really didn't mean it" I ask her, worried that I might've hurt her again.

"Don't worry, it's not" she smiles a bit in a way to reassure me

"Mm, okay Chaengie...How was rehearsal?" I ask her, trying to make conversation with her.

"It was good. Jungkook and I got a lot of things done"

"Is he still singing over you?"

She shakes her head.

"Okay that's good" I smile in relief.

Silence fills the room. It isn't the usual comfortable silence. There's a weird feeling in the air. Something like tension, but it's awkward. Someone knocks on the door and Chaeng tells them to come in. Her brother from earlier peeks into the room.

"Chanyeol is home" he tells us.

Chaeng nods and stands up, so I follow her. We walk to the front door and greet her other brother who just came home.

They all look so similar.

As soon as he walks in, he wraps around Chaeyoung in a tight hug.

"Where were you?! Why didn't you tell us anything?! Do you have any idea how worried we were?!" he scolds Chaeyoung.

He lets go of the hug and Chaeng smiles. I smile at their sibling love.

"Sorry Chanyeol. I didn't mean to worry you guys. I just needed a walk at the park."

"Why?! Is something bothering you? You can talk to us" he tells her

"No no! I'm okay" Chaeng replies

Her other brother comes to us, "Chanyeol! Don't be rude and say hi to Chaeyoung's friend. She brought her home."

Chanyeol turns to me and starts bowing, "Thank you so much for bringing her safely. We really owe you. She's the baby of the family, and if anything happened to her, I would've gone insane. Thank you so much."

"No no! You don't owe me anything. Chaeyoung is..." I turn to look at her, "an important person to me. I would have also gone insane if something happened to her."

I watch as her cheeks slowly turn a light shade of red.

"I'm glad you could stay for dinner" Chanyeol tells me

"Thank you for inviting me" I reply

"Any friend of Chaeyoung is ours!" Jimin adds in

I smile.

Her brothers are as sweet as she is.

Jimin rubs his head, "Although, dinner isn't ready yet. Can you guys wait a bit more?"

I laugh, "Don't worry"

Chaeyoung nods and we go back up to her room.

"Sorry about them. Sometimes they can be a little too much" she sighs

"No no. I can tell they care about you a lot" I tell her

"Yeah. I was practically raised by them" she explains to me

"That's cool! I always wondered what it was like having siblings"

"It's really annoying," she jokes, "but at the end of the day you know you always have someone to rely on."

"I think I understand you. The closest I have to siblings is the Royalties" I smile as I remember our memories together.

"That reminds me, I haven't had Lisa or Jeongyeon come over to see my brothers yet."

"Really? I thought since Lisa is your cousin she would've already been here" I tell her, a bit surprised.

She laughs, "The first people to come here were Nayeon and SinB."

"That makes sense. They're your best friends and the first people you really got close to"

She nods. The awkward silence comes back.

"Jisoo, do you have a girlfriend?"
