She desperately wanted this to be real, for her dream to be real, but it wasn't she knew that, maybe in another life it could've been, this could've happened, she would've been able to watch their baby girl grow up, she wanted to be able to forget but she couldn't, she had grown a little baby in her stomach for 7 months, she had gave birth to a child, she didn't want to let it go, to forget.
7 months can still have a big impact and it did, for those 7 months she allowed herself to smile, to be happy, to imagine the joy on everyone's faces when she gave birth, the joy on reece's and autumn's face, she allowed herself to imagine what it would be like when her child grew up, she let herself imagine, all she could think about was what she could've done to prevent this, but deep down she knew there was nothing she could've done, yet she still allowed herself to think.
Marjorie didn't even know how reece felt, they hadn't talked much since she sobbed into his chest begging for it to not be real, because she desperately did not want it to be real, she wanted it to be a nightmare, maybe it was? a long stupid nightmare - it in fact was not, this was real, it wasn't a nightmare, no matter how much she wanted it to be, it was not.
She felt a hand start to stroke her hair and she looked up at reece trying to smile but she couldn't, not with this pain that was sitting inside of her after losing her child, their child, he nodded understandingly and only held her tighter in reply, she knew he was feeling the same, after all how could he not? they both had lost this child, their child together, as two.
"I wanted this to be a nightmare, for this to not be real. but this is real isn't it?" she asked quitely but he still heard her and his heart ached a little more "It is real, I'm sorry" He replied, his voice cracked as he said 'I'm sorry' like it was his fault but it wasn't, it wasn't hers either right? there was nothing they could've done to prevent the outcome, right?
She didn't allow herself to think about it much longer, shaking her head of the thoughts that tried to overcome her "It's not your fault." She whispered meekily, he held her just a little tighter and kissed the top of her head "It's not your fault either." He whispered in reassurance, she only hummed and nodded in response.
It wasn't his fault, it wasn't her fault either, it wasn't either of them faults, there was nothing that could've been done, it was almost like it was meant to be, it was meant to happen, maybe for something more in the future? she didn't know, she wanted so badly to believe that it wasn't her fault that maybe she did.
