chapter nine

Today's Halloween, and the group wants to dress up as Ghostbusters, but I'll let the group be a boys group for school today. Besides, Mike and I are already being a skeleton tonight.

I go to my locker and wait for everyone to come to school. I notice everyone wasn't wearing costumes. Oh great, they're gonna get made fun lf today.

I put my skateboard in my locker as Will opens his locker.
"No one's wearing costumes." I tell Will.
"I know, trust me." Will says as he closes his locker once he gets his paper.
"It's fine, there's way more things you guys could've been this year." I tell Will as we walk to science.

"Look at Dustin and Lucas." Mike tells Will and I as we see Lucas and Dustin talking to Max.

"It looks like it's going good." I tell Mike as Max closes her locker and walks the other way from them.
"Nevermind." I add as Will snickers.

"So, we're gonna go trick or treating at 7?" Mike asks us and we all nod.
"Great. I'll go to your house Addy?" Mike asks.
"Yeah, of course." I say as he puts his arm around me.

"Holy shit! Mad Max almost ran Lucas and I over! I repeat, Mad Max almost ran us over!" Dustin yells through the walkie talkie.

"What?" I ask as I look at Mike.
"Max and someone was in a car and they almost hit us!" Dustin explains.
"Maybe they didn't see you?"
"No, they for sure saw us."
"Oh, well we'll most likely run into her tonight. Ask her about it then. It's a good conversation starter."
"Addy, seriously? "Oh did you try to hit us before? Oh if it was that's cool because I really like you." No!" Dustin yells through the phone.
"Okay, that's not what I meant. But are you guys almost here?"
"Yeah, like 5 minutes."
"Okay, see you then." I say as I close the walkie talkie.

Mike and I change into our costumes and I put my makeup on.

"You guys are so cute! Honey, grab my camera!" My mom tells my dad as he gets the camera out and hands it to my mom. Mike and I smile for the camera as she hands me the picture and I quickly put it on my desk.

"Addy! Your friends are here!" My mom yells from downstairs as Mike and I go open the door.

"Hey guys!" We say as we open the door.
"Hey skeletons! You ready for tonight?" Dustin asks.
"Of course, let's go." I say as I close my door.

"If I get another 3 Musketeers, I'm gonna kill myself." Lucas says as we walk down the hill full of leaves.

"Hey, what's wrong with 3 Musketeers?" I ask Lucas.
" 'What's wrong with 3 Musketeers?'"
"Addy likes 3 Musketeers." Mikes says.
"Yeah, it's just nougat." I say with a shrug.
"Exactly! Addy gets it, 3 Musketeers are top three for me." Dustin says.
"Okay, top 3's a stretch." I say as we go on the road.
"I'm serious, I can just eat a whole bowl of nougat. Straight up."
"Oh, give me a break." Mike says as someone goes in front of us.

I go into Mikes' shoulder while Lucas screams so loud I had to cover my ears.

The person takes off their masks, revealing Max.
"Holy shit! You should have seen the look on your faces. And you? Who screams like that? You sound like a little girl." Max says as she looks at Lucas.

"She's not wrong." I mutter as Mike laughs.
"Oh, says the one curled up next to Mike." Lucas says while he rolls his eyes while Max walks away.

"Hey, you guys coming or not? Oh, I heard we should hit up Loch Nora. That's where the rich people live, right?" Max says.

"Hey, that's where Addy lives, right?" Will asks me as I nod while Lucas looks at Dustin as they squeal and follow Max.

Mike holds onto me the rest of the walk as we go to my house.
"Holy shit, Addy, you didn't tell us you were giving out full size candy bars." Dustin says as he puts the snickers bar into his bucket.
"Yeah, I forgot, sorry." I say as we leave my house.
