It was a beautifully sunny day in Los Angeles, and Luca and Street had invited Alyx out to the market place. She accepted quickly, horrendously tired of the same four walls of her apartment.

Alyx walked next to Street, Luca on his other side. While the two were discussing Luca's living plans she idly surveyed the tents of various goods, her phone in hand waiting for something to ruin her peaceful day.

"Look, one bedroom, washer-dryer. Not that you use them." Street jutted the paper in Luca's direction dramatically, Alyx letting out a loud laugh pushing the man to her right.

"Why are you so snarky? It's not like your socks smell any better."

"Because I eat on that table Luca. It's been four months. Don't you want your own place?" Alyx moved to go walk beside Luca, she pocketed her phone and skipped to the other side of their little group.

"Luca here doesn't wanna be aloneeee." The woman taunted her friend in which he didn't respond as his mind was too focused on the orange tent in front of them.

"Ohh, Benji's Bakery booth. Their chocolate croissants will change your life."

"No." Alyx sent Street a glare, obviously enticed by Luca's recommendation.

"Come on. It's my treat. I just want..." Luca trailed off, he stood still which also halted Alyx's steps. Her arm was partially linked with his until he took his hands out of his pockets and stared straight ahead. Alyx tried to follow his gaze but couldn't quite pick out what his sight was settled on. Street had also stopped walking oblivious to Luca's hypnotic state.

"No. Forget the pastries, follow me." Luca's pace changed quickly, Street and Alyx sharing a concerned look.

"What's up? You want to tell us what this is about?"

"Hey, remember a couple years ago, that psycho that was cutting up all the pretty people?" Luca was using his hands to speak, Alyx knew about the case briefly since it was one of the most televised serial killers in her area. Buck also spoke a bunch about the case when the two would get coffee.

"Yeah, all of his victims were like L.A. newcomers chasing Hollywood dreams, right?"

"Yep. The "Vanity Killer"." Luca affirmed Alyx's words with the nod of his head.

"What about him?" The trio began to speed their pace up, walking up a small hill and through the gazebo. Alyx struggled to catch up as the two men walked straight through a newly finished yoga class. The pins on Alyx's tote bag clinked with the intensity of what felt like a chase.

They had made their way into a busy closed off street, Luca looked up and down the path wildly. Alyx was still intensely confused, and looked at Street with eyes pleading to tell her what was happening. Within moments Luca was shouting at a man who was getting into his car and when he took off running Street followed.

Alyx let out a sigh, she walked in their direction and could only make out Luca saying something like that's him or it's him. Alyx watched Luca and Street interact from a distance, she could tell Luca had a deeply emotional tie to the case. Letting out a sharp whistle the two men turned around to see her, Alyx raised her hand and gestured towards her watch, Street sent a thumbs-up and Luca sent her a wave back.

Alyx decided to go to Buck's place after Street told her it was okay to leave, she was also hopeful that her family friend would be there so she could ask about the case without bugging Luca. When she arrived the only parking on the street she could find was a block away so Alyx took it knowing Buck never really liked people parking in the driveway.
