The next morning, I was looking through my calendar on my phone, and realized that Saturday is the lacrosse game. The game could be dangerous to play for Scott. Sports are competitive. He could get really angry and tear someone to shreds.
"Bella, you okay?" Allison asked me as she buttoned up her shirt. "You froze for a second."
"Yeah, I'm fine," I mumbled, putting my phone down on her desk.
I moved to stand in front of her body mirror. I was wearing a loose light pink sweater with light denim jeans.
"Do I look okay?" I turned to Allison.
"You look cute as always," Allison replied.
"Thanks."
"Are you trying to impress anyone?"
"No."
I quickly turned away from her, and looked back into the mirror while patting down my shirt. I could see her smirking from behind me.
"I'm not trying to impress anyone, Allison," I said, looking at her through the mirror.
"Okay, okay," Allison laughed. "I won't push you to tell me who it is."
I groaned while she continued to laugh. It's only my second day of school. Who would I be trying to impress? I haven't met anyone I liked yet, and I usually don't get crushes.
"Girls, come get breakfast before you leave!" I heard Aunt Victoria shout.
"Coming!" Allison and I yelled back in unison.
I slipped on my white flats, and grabbed my backpack. We headed downstairs to join the rest of our family. Uncle Chris was sitting down with Aunt Victoria eating some toast and eggs. A big stack of pancakes rested on a plate on the counter next to the stove. I dropped my bag and dashed to it at the same time Allison did. We got to the plate at the same time, but Allison pushed me out of the way.
"Relax, girls!" Aunt Victoria laughed. "There's ten, so you each get five."
"Only five?" Allison and I pouted.
"Hurry and eat before your dad gets here," Uncle Chris chuckled, nodding his head at me.
Allison grabbed herself a plate, and then passed me one. We took our five pancakes and put them down at the table with Chris and Victoria. I went to the fridge, and took out the milk. I grabbed two cups from the cabinet, and then brought it all back to the table. While I poured the milk into both cups, Allison grabbed the butter and syrup. I sat down with her and took the syrup. After basically drowning my pancakes in syrup, I passed it to her, and she did the same. I took a few bites before Allison started up a conversation.
"What do you think of Lydia and Jackson?" she asked, taking a bite of her pancakes.
"I'm not sure. I haven't gotten to spend much time with them," I shrugged. "From our encounter at lunch, Lydia seems nice and Jackson seems rude."
"Yeah, he can be a little arrogant sometimes. I'm glad you like Lydia, though. She's really cool, I swear."
I smiled and nodded.
"What about Scott and Stiles?" she said.
"Scott is nice," I said with my mouth full of pancakes.
"Just nice?"
I grabbed my glass of milk and took a few gulps to help me down the food.
"He was really kind to me, and he's smart," I gave her a better answer. "He was my tour guide almost the entire day. He seems chill."
