"Bella!"

"Allison!"

Allison left her father's side on the front steps and ran towards me. I met her halfway and we hugged each other tightly.

"I missed you so much!" Allison exclaimed.

"I missed you, too!" I grinned.

"Girls, it's only been a week," my dad chuckled.

"Sh!" we both shushed him at the same time.

Allison began to tell me about the town and the high school. Her dad walked towards us after greeting my father.

"Allison, calm down," Uncle Chris laughed lightly, placing his hand on his shoulder. "She just got here."

"Sorry," she smiled sheepishly. "I'm just so excited. You're going to love it here."

"I'm sure I will," I said with a smile and then turned to Chris. "Hey, Uncle Chris."

"Hey, kid," he grinned, hugging me.

I heard a crash, and pulled away quickly, looking around.

"What's wrong, Bella?" Uncle Chris asked. "You okay?

"Uh, yeah, um," I stammered. "I was just wondering where Aunt Victoria is."

"She went out to the store to pick up some groceries to make dinner for all of us tonight. She'll be back soon."

"Great, so, uh, we should get started."

Chris nodded and we all walked to the back of the U-Haul truck. The front door was already open, so we all took a box or two and made our way into the house. It was an average sized brick house with a small white picket fence around it. It was nice and cozy. Allison and I had grabbed the boxes that were going to my room. She told me all about the friends she had already made, and about how the school is really nice. She even told me about her crush. A boy named Scott McCall. He's a lacrosse player and has a big game coming up.

"Please come with me to see him play," she pleaded.

"Why not?" I said.

"Yes!"

We got more of my boxes and then my dad's stuff. We let our dads bring in all the furniture except for small chairs and such. My father and I didn't really have much. We didn't need a lot, anyway. Around noon, Victoria had already arrived and was chatting with me and Allison on the front lawn.

"What are the plans for tonight?" I asked.

"You and your father are coming over tonight for a big welcoming dinner," Aunt Victoria beamed.

"Sounds great. I love your cooking."

"Bella, come get your bed frame and mattress!" my dad yelled from the truck.

I gave Victoria an apologetic smile for having to cut the conversation short, but she just nodded and smiled. Allison helped me carry my bed frame into the house and up the steps into my room.

"Now the mattress," I let out a deep breath.

"At least it's lighter," Allison pointed out.

I nodded, and we went back outside to get the mattress. We carried it together up the stairs carefully, and Allison almost fell at one point, resulting in me bursting into a fit of laughter. Once we got to my room and put the mattress down next to the bed frame, she saw I was still laughing and glared at me.

"It's not that funny," she crossed her arms over her chest.

"Yes, it is," I laughed, placing a hand on my stomach. "You were so focused and then you slipped and oh my gosh, that was hilarious!"

I pretended to wipe a tear from my eye.

"You suck," Allison rolled her eyes, smiling slightly.

"But you love me," I giggled, hugging her.

"Whatever."

We walked back out to the truck to see our parents standing next to it, talking.

"Hey," my dad wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"What's up?" I replied.

"Nothing. Just talking about tonight's plans."

"What about them?"

"You're going to have to unpack a little now, and then unpack some more later after dinner. You have to put your bed frame together, too."

I groaned.

"I'm going to be so stuffed after eating Aunt Victoria's delicious food," I said, moving closer to Allison. "Can I stay over at your house tonight?"

"I'm okay with it," Aunt Victoria said.

"Me, too," Uncle Chris agreed.

"It's our first day here, and you're not going to sleep in your new house?" my dad raised an eyebrow.

"Please," Allison and I begged my dad for permission.

"Fine, fine, fine. Just make sure you're ready for unpacking tomorrow."

"Of course she'll be ready," Allison assured him. "I'll be helping her."

I smiled from ear to ear. This has already been a great day. I'm hoping every day will be like this.
