"I can't wait for you to meet them," Allison said excitedly.
"Allison, I'm excited, too, but that's the third time you've said that," I replied. "Calm down."
"Okay, okay. I'm calm."
Allison takes a deep breath and my dad pulls up in front of Beacon Hills High School. He stops the car and Allison quickly gets out.
"No goodbye or thank you for your favorite uncle?" my dad called after her.
Allison laughed, "Thanks for the ride, Uncle Jack.See you later."
"No problem, darling. Bye."
I took a deep breath before exiting the car. I closed the door behind me and then said goodbye to my father.
"Be careful, Bella," my dad said quietly before I walked away. "Protect Allison. Chris still hasn't told her."
"I will, but Chris should just tell her what she is already," I sighed.
"Just keep it a secret for now, okay?"
I nodded, and he smiled. He said goodbye to us a final time and then drove away. Allison then grabbed my hand and dragged me up to the school. People stared at us, mostly me because I'm new. I held onto my backpack tightly, suddenly feeling a little nervous.
"Your books should be at the office, along with your schedule," Allison explained. "We should have most classes together."
"Okay," I mumbled in response.
I was starting to feel uncomfortable with all these people staring at me. I felt like they could see right through me. Like maybe they knew what I was. Allison brought me to the main office, but I was still thinking about the stares in the hall. Could they tell I was different? Maybe I'm just being paranoid. I have to start acting normal if I don't want anything to slip. No one can know. No one.
"Hello, Miss Argent," the secretary snapped me out of my thoughts. "Here are your books. Your schedule is somewhere in these folders."
She flipped through a few folders on her desk and searched through a large stack of papers. I watched her as she searched. She was pretty young, probably around thirty or maybe her late twenties. Her dirty blonde hair was pulled back into a bun.
"Ah, here it is," she smiled, reaching out to hand me the paper.
"Thank you," I murmured nervously.
We left the office and Allison gave me a look.
"Bella, are you okay?" Allison questioned. "Are you nervous? I get it. I was new here not too long ago, but everyone is very welcoming. You're going to love it here. I promise."
"Y-Yeah, I know," I stammered.
"Besides, we have a few classes together. I'll be by your side for at least half of the day and it'll be so much fun."
The bell rung as I grinned and nodded. I'm actually really excited for this. It's a new school, and that means new people and new opportunities. Allison grinned back at me and hooked our arms together as we walked down the hall towards first period which was English. When we walked in, a boy with dark hair and tan skin smiled at Allison. She smiled back brightly in return. I wonder if this is the boy she liked. We walked towards the two empty seats in front of his desk.
"Hey, Scott," Allison greeted him as we sat down. "This is my cousin Isabella. Isabella, this is Scott."
Scott. Scott McCall, the boy she has a little crush on.
"Hi," I smiled slightly. "Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you, too," Scott replied. "Welcome to Beacon Hills."
