What is happening to me? I was running. I'm running. Really fast. How am I running this fast? My breaths were fast and short. I need to stop running. How do I stop? I pressed my heels into the ground, trying to stop myself. The sudden brake caused me to fly forward. I rubbed the back of my head as I sat up. After standing up, and dusting myself off, I looked around. Tall, dark trees surrounded me. I could hardly see. The full moon was my only source of light. I was in the forest. How did I get here? I heard a howl. It's a wolf, and it's close. When I turned to find a path, I found myself staring into its glowing red eyes. I froze in fear. It growled at me. I slowly closed my eyes. The wolf growled again. A few minutes had passed when I finally opened my eyes. Where is it? Before I could release a sigh of relief, I heard the wolf howl from behind me. I had no time to turn around. It had me pinned down within seconds.I screamed.

My eyes opened quickly, and I shot up in my bed. I tried taking deep breaths to calm myself down. Slowly, I lifted my right hand to my forehead. It was sticky with sweat, as were my clothes. I pushed my blankets off of my bed, and went to the bathroom. I turned on the light after closing and locking the door. I stared at myself in the mirror. My brown hair was sticking to my neck and forehead. I frowned before turning on the shower. I stripped off my dirty pajamas and stepped into the water. The hot water helped me relax. I placed my hand on my left hip, the spot where the bite once was. I sighed and washed up and turned off the shower.

I snatched my towel off of the hook and dried off before wrapping it around my body. I wiped the mirror and gasped when I saw my eyes glowing yellow. Shaking my head, I backed away from the mirror. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. When I looked back into the mirror, I let out a breath I didn't realize I had been holding. My eyes were fine.

"Isabella!" I heard my dad yell. "Can you come down here?"

"Um, hold on!" I shouted in response.

I quickly went back to my room, and changed into skinny jeans, and a graphic tee. I didn't bother doing my makeup. I'm not going anywhere.

"Bella!" my dad called again.

"Coming!" I replied, running down the steps.

After finding him in the kitchen, leaning again the counter in his blue jeans and plaid shirt, I gave him a kiss on the cheek and made myself a bowl of cereal.

"So, what's up?" I asked, spilling Lucky Charms into my bowl.

"It's about moving," my dad answered.

I smiled slightly, pouring milk onto the cereal. I grabbed a spoon and sat down at the kitchen table. We're moving to Beacon Hills in a few days. It's a small town in California. My Uncle Chris and Aunt Victoria live there with my cousin Allison. Allison and I are very close.

"I want to make sure you were okay-" my dad said, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Of course I'm okay with moving, dad," I cut him off. "The house in Beacon Hills is amazing, and Allison says it's a nice place."

"I just wanted to ask you about it again. I know you have many friends-"

"Dad, I like Beacon Hills. It's good."

My dad thinks I have a lot of friends, but I don't. I make it seem like I have friends, so he thinks I'm okay. I'm not really a social person or anything, so I don't really make friends. I only have a few that won't really miss me when I leave.

"Okay," my dad let out a breath, a small smile on his face. "Is most of your stuff packed already?"

"All of it is," I replied, grinning. "I'm really excited to move, dad."

He nodded. I finished my breakfast a few minutes later and then went back up to my room. I flopped onto my bed and hid my face in my pillow. Holding this secret in is so hard. My dad and I are close. We tell each other everything, but there's a major problem I can't discuss with him. I'm a monster. A werewolf.Yeah, they actually exist. You know what that means? Hunters exist, too.

I was bitten one night while hunting alone. I shouldn't have been hunting by myself late at night, but I thought I saw a wolf and I wanted to get it. When I entered the woods that night, I did not know I was dealing with an Alpha, the strongest wolf. The leader of the pack. It bit me, and I guess you already know what that means.

Now I am a werewolf, too. I'm no Beta. I'm an Omega, because I will never join a pack. I may have been bitten, but I am still a Hunter. I am Isabella Argent.
