Chapter 6

Poppy's Pov

Week five. I have been sleeping with Creek these last few days. To be honest, I wasn't sleeping at all. Creek started getting a little handy. I also gave him the permission to kiss me. Branch and I haven't spoken since the day I told him that I was gonna sleep with Creek from now on. Barb and I are so close, and all of the stuff seems to like me. I'm afraid that Creek is going to propose to me soon. I still don't feel anything about him, because...I think.....that I'm a little bit into.... Branch. I don't know why!!!!! We always end up fighting. He is cold towards me.

"A penny for your thoughts, sweetie?" Creek said when he noticed me in the pool of the castle.

"Hey!" I said and kissed his cheek. He blushed a little.

"Poppy, can we talk for a moment?"

"Of course. Something's wrong? Did I do something?"

"No. You're extraordinary. These last few weeks I had the time of my life with you. I think that there is something between us after all."

If you think so.

Then he got down to his knee. Oh my...

"What are you doing?"

"Poppy, will you be my wife?"

"Creek.....I-i...."

He was just staring at me in confusion. I have to marry him even thought I don't feel something about him.

"Yes. I would love to be your wife." I said and I smiled at him. He kissed me and he slipped the ring on my finger.

Week six. Creek is going to be away for a few days to invite everyone to our wedding. On the other hand, I'm gonna stay here and plan the ceremony. I wrote everything to my dad. But, not the fact that I might have a crush on Creek's cousin. I was in my room writing my letter when there was a knock on my door. I thought it was Barb. I asked her to bring me some glitter.

"Barb, you got it?" I said while opening the door, but it wasn't Barb.

"........Branch?"

"Is it true?"

"It is." I said codly.

"Poppy you can't marry him. I know that for some reason you have to protect your kingdom, so you kinda have to , but that guy is crazy. He doesn't know how to treat a lady."

"Branch, I told you. I don't have any other choice." I said and tried to close the door, but Branch stopped me and got into my room and pushed me into the wall.

"What are you doing? Are you crazy?"

"Maybe."

Now we were one inch apart from eachother.

"Branch....they're gonna see us."

"We're not doing something bad, are we?"

"No, but if you keep staring at me like that, we're gonna do."

"Then, let's do it."

"Branch, we shouldn't do this."

"We definitely shouldn't do this." He said and I couldn't resist anymore so I smashed my lips against his.

Branch picked me up and we were making out when Barb knocked on the door. We pulled away from eachother and I threw Branch into the closet.

"Come in."

"Poppy I brought the glitter that you asked for."

"Oh Barb, thank you." I said and I hugged her.

"The Queen is waiting for you downstairs for dinner."

"Oh right, the dinner."

"Have you seen Branch? Guy Diamond is looking for him."

"Tell the Queen that I'm gonna be there in one minute. I'll find Branch."

"Okay then...."

"Okay, you can go now.... Thank you for letting me know.....see you later." I said and closed the door.

"Did she leave?"

"Yeah."

"This was fun." He said

"This wasn't fun. She almost caught..." I couldn't finish my sentence because Branch kissed me again.

"....us."

"I'll see you downstairs." Branch said and he left.

What I'm gonna do???????

After dinner Branch was heading to his room but I grabbed him and threw him into mine.

"What was that for?"

"We need to talk. What happened earlier was a mistake. I have to marry Creek!!!" I said and I started tearing up. I fell to my knees.

"Poppy, tell me what's wrong." Branch said and sat next to me.

"A few years ago, my kingdom suffered from a Bergen attack. My people fought with the Bergens but we weren't strong enough. My mom died in the battle... because of me."

"What do you mean?"

"Everyone was trying to escape but I was captured. My mom tried to save me from a Bergen, but...."

"She got eaten." Branch said and I nodded.

"That's why you said that maybe you deserve to be treated badly from Creek?"

"Yeah."

"Poppy it wasn't your fault. Your mom wanted to protect you."

"That's why we need the protection of your kingdom. My dad and your grandma made a deal. That they were going to protect us only if I got married to Creek, who wanted to find a wife, so he can be King."

"Poppy, that's awful. And you're gonna marry him, even though you don't love him?"

"That's not my biggest problem. I tried to fall for him but I couldn't, because..... I'm in love with someone else.........you."

Branch's Pov

"You're in love with me?"

"I know that this was not supposed to happen, but it did. I can't do anything about my feelings. The only thing that I can do is to ignore them."

"Poppy, you shouldn't ignore them."

"Why?"

"Poppy, I have to tell you something as well. I am jealous of Creek, but not because he is going to be King. Because he has you."

Poppy couldn't believe her ears. She was staring at me with a surprised expression.

"He is really lucky to have you. Even though he doesn't deserve you. As for your feelings towards me, I....I wanted to tell you....uh.....that I have feelings for you as well." I said and Poppy smiled at the ground.

"And now what? What are we going to do about it?" She asked me

"The only thing we can do."

"And what's that?"

"Ignore Creek and face the truth."

"But, you said that if I hurt him he's gonna go crazy."

"True. But, I'm not gonna let him hurt someone because she hasn't feelings for him." I said and Poppy hugged me.

"I'm not gonna leave you alone. We'll get through this, together." I said

Then I picked Poppy up and placed her to her bed. She fell asleep and I left her a note:

I'll see you tomorrow. Meet me at the garden at 11:00 pm.
