Chapter 13

Branch's Pov

Me and Poppy were walking for hours and Poppy was ready to pass out. She is really terrified. She believes that Creek is going to find us. I mean she's not wrong. He is definitely looking for us. I turned around and saw Poppy walking with her eyes closed.

"Poppy, are you okay?"

"W-what? Are we there yet?"

"No. But, we're so close. You just have to be patient."

Then Poppy fell to her knees and started sobbing.

"He's looking for us, isn't he?" she said

"Possibly."

I sat beside her and lifted her chin so she could face me.

"Poppy, I'm not gonna let him hurt you. Come on we have to go on."

A few minutes later Poppy couldn't take it anymore and she laid down and fell asleep. But, it was too risky to stay there, so I picked her up and carried her bridal style to Lonesome flats.

"Poppy. We're here." I said

"We are?"

"Guys over here." Holly Darling said

"Hey. I'm prince Branch of Pop kingdom and this is princess Poppy of Flower Kingdom."

"Don't you worry, sugar. I know everything. Barb, sent me a letter the second you left. Come on, y'all, you must be exhausted."

"Prince Branch." Delta Dawn said

"Delta, hi."

"Who's that girl? Is that your girlfriend?"

"Yeah, she is." I said and Poppy looked at me and then smiled at the ground

"Come on then, you must be starving." Delta said and started showing us around.

"Who is she?" Poppy whispered to me

"She is Delta, Queen of the country trolls. She was a friend of my parents."

Poppy's Pov

Everyone was so nice and welcoming. That's a relief. They said that they are going to protect us at all cost. I hope Creek won't find us here. Delta showed us where are we going to sleep and left us alone. (The room is a barn by the way.) And then....I jumped on Branch and bowled him over.

"What are you doing?"

"Branch, we may not have much time. That's why, I don't want to waste another second."

"So? What do you have in mind?"

I didn't answer him, I just started kissing him. At first Branch was frozen but then he started kissing me back. He sat up and I sat on his lap and wrapped my legs around his waist. Then, he started unzipping my dress and I took off his leaf vest. He kept kissing my neck and he wrapped his hands around my waist. I ran my hands through his hair and then he picked me up and said :

"Let's move this to the bed..."

The next morning

Poppy's Pov

I woke up this morning and I was super tired, because of what happened yesterday. I sat up and turned around to find Branch but he wasn't there. The floor was scattered with clothes in random places but Branch's clothes were missing. Where did he go? I walked out of the barn to find everyone having breakfast except Branch.

"Morning sugar." Holly said

"Morning Holly."

"Come on sit. Breakfast is ready."

"Thank you."

"So??? Everything okay yesterday???"

I knew what Holly meant by "everything okay" so I just laughed. That's embarrassing.

"Uh...Have you guys seen Branch?"

"What do you mean?" Gust asked

"He was gone when I woke up. His clothes were missing as well. Did you see him?"

"No, sugar we didn't." Then Holly turned to Delta. "Delta? Have you seen Branch?"

"No, I haven't. Why? Where is he?"

"He was already gone when I woke up."

Then it just hit me.

"What if Creek found him, while I was sleeping?"

"Poppy easy. Maybe he was....uh....he went to....." Gust was trying to find an excuse to calm me down but he couldn't find anything.

They all exchanged looks and then stared at me with fear in their eyes.

"It's possible." Delta said

No one's Pov

Little did they know that Creek and Archer found Branch a few hours ago and took him back to Pop village, where everyone was grey, terrified and locked inside their houses. Most of the guards and the stuff of the castle were prisoners and Branch was going to face his cousin. Thankfully, Creek and Archer couldn't find Poppy. So, it's up to her now to save her boyfriend and her friends.
