Chapter 4

Poppy's Pov

After me and Branch made up, we were heading to the dining room to meet Creek and the Queen, but Creek showed up and said "Morning beautiful."

"Morning Creek." I said and he turned his gaze on Branch.

"Branch."

"Creek."

"What are you doing with my fiancé?"

"Don't worry, I'm not trying to steal her from you. It's not everything about you."

I was just standing there. Creek then took my hand and said "I prepared something special for you this morning. Shall we?"

"We shall." I said and followed him. I felt bad for leaving Branch behind, but it's not like his my friend or something.

Me and Creek had breakfast in the garden and he was flirting with me all the time. I tried to relax and tried so hard to feel something for him, but it's not working. I don't know what to do. Besides I can't get Branch off of my head.

After me and Creek had breakfast, Creek said " You know I really enjoy your company. It's really fun having you here."

"Well, thank you." I said fluttered.

Then he started leaning in, but I stopped him and said "Don't you think it's a little bit early for that?"

"Yeah of course. How silly of me." He said kinda annoyed

"Are you mad?"

"No. I'm not." He said

Then one of the guards, Biggie I think, called him.

"I have to go. I'll see you later."

I returned to my room and found Barb cleaning.

"Hey Barb."

"Hey Poppy. What's wrong?"

"I was having breakfast with Creek in the garden. It was just the two of us. After we finished he tried to kiss me."

"What ? So soon ?"

"That's exactly what I said. But, I think he got mad."

"Don't you worry. He used to be a player. But, I don't think he is playing with you. He seems to like you."

"I don't know. I don't feel anything for him yet." I said but Barb raised her eyebrows.

"What?"

"I know that look. Something's going on."

"No. Nothing's going on."

"Yeah, I don't buy it Popsqueak. Speak."

"I have nothing to say." I said and I smiled at the ground.

Branch's Pov

I was looking at Poppy and Creek having breakfast and smiling at eachother, but Poppy was feeling a little bit uncomfortable. Creek was flirting with her, obviously.

I returned to my room and saw Guy Diamond there looking at me with a smirk on his face.

"Something's wrong?"

"I was gonna ask you the same thing."

"Why?"

"You're acting weird."

"No, I don't."

"Yes, you do. I've seen you and Poppy."

"And? She was just apologising to me about something. That's all."

"Right." Guy said and left the room.

Guy's Pov

I left Branch's room and saw Barb in the hall. Maybe she knows something.

"Barb ?"

"What's up?"

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"Have you noticed that Branch and Poppy are acting weird ?"

"You've noticed too?"

"I mean it's obvious."

"Do you think that...they might...have something for... eachother?"

"I don't know. But, that can't happen. Right?"

Branch's Pov

I was in my room when someone knocked on the door.

"Come in."

"Hey." Poppy said

I sat up and said "Hi. Are you okay? Something's wrong?"

"No, everything's great."

"Then why are you here?"

"I can go if you're busy."

"No, don't go!"

Why did I just say that ?

"I mean... I'm not busy. Do you need anything?"

"I wanted to ask you something. Can we talk about Creek?"

"What do you mean?"

"Barb told me that he used to be a player and I'm a little worried."

"Well.... I'm sorry Poppy, but I can't help you."

"Something's wrong?"

"No, it's just that I don't want to lie to you. Me and Creek aren't that close."

"Why? Because you're jealous of him?"

"I'm not jealous of him!"

"I didn't want to offend you or anything, but Creek said that you're jealous of him."

"Well, that's not true!!!"

"Okay, I'm sorry. Just stop yelling!"

"What's going on here?" Creek said "Is my cousin harassing you, sweetie?"

"No! We were just talking."

"Creek get out of my room!"

"Fine. I don't even want to be here. This room is horrible. Poppy let's go."

"I said Creek get out, not Poppy."

"Well, Branch thank you but I should go too."

"Poppy, come on." Creek said and they left.

"Poppy, come on." I mumbled. He is infuriating.

Poppy's Pov

"What did he want from you?" Creek asked me

"I went to find him. I wanted to ask him something about...my room."

"Okay? Nevermind him. Poppy, do you want to come to my room tonight."

"Uh??????"

"I mean just to chat and get to know eachother better. Besides, we have to bond, right?"

"Okay. Sure."
