Two months had passed since the Luke Dolan case. The team had been involved with a few cases since. High school massacre victims were re-targeted, young children from homes with a troubled mother were abducted in St. Louis, a case in California where a young man had been drowning people and resuscitating them to try and find some answers about the afterlife.

Adeline had learned a lot about her colleagues in that time. Her heart broke when she found out that Emily had flatlined in the ambulance when she had to fake her death. She was even more heartbroken finding out that Spencer had also been a victim of an abduction and was revived by his captor. She admired their strength and resilience, knowing firsthand the toll such experiences could take on one's psyche. Despite the emotional weight of their work, the BAU team had a unique way of supporting each other. Adeline felt increasingly integrated into their close-knit unit, her initial nerves dissipating with each passing day.

It was late in the evening when Adeline's phone lit up beside her. She groggily grabbed her phone and checked her messages. A case, missing kids in Kansas. Adeline got up from her sofa and changed, made a coffee to go, and made her way back to the BAU.

"The bodies of two unidentified boys were found near Wichita, Kansas, a week apart. Both were Caucasian and between the ages of 15 and 17." Penelope began.

Emily was the first to question, "They were each found mangled in the aftermath of a tornado?"

"Yeah, but that's not what did them in. The M. E. has determined that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head before the storms hit." Penelope confirmed.

After some briefing, the team found that the victims were missing some of their limbs. A right leg was missing from victim number one and both arms were missing from victim two. It was tornado season in Kansas so the medical examiner was extremely busy with the influx of deaths, therefore, hadn't completed a post mortem examination as of yet on the two victims. The team shoots ideas at each other. A popular idea that the offender is trying to make it seem as if the storm had killed these young men. Before long, the team were in the air heading for a stormy, rainy, tornado-y Kansas.

"Central Plains. Right in the middle of Tornado Alley." JJ joked as the jet began to shake. The team all reached for their paperwork and their drinks to stop them from spilling over.

"If this unsub is using tornadoes as a forensic countermeasure, then Kansas certainly is the right setting. Tornadoes do pose a significant threat. During this year's super outbreak back in April, there were 336 confirmed tornadoes in just several days resulting in over 300 lives lost." Adeline watched Spencer as he effortlessly recited tornado statistics. "You're so smart. Are you sure you aren't a robot?" Adeline smiled at Spencer from across the aisle.

A ping was heard, signalling that penelope had called in. "Tell us something good, mama." Derek greeted.

"Okay, so local P. D. Have ID'd your victims. I'm putting this all on your tablets if you'd like to follow along. First up is Jason Meredith, 16-year-old runaway from Garden City, Kansas. Mom said he took off over a year ago. Next up is Eric Janelle, 15-year-old foster kid from Wichita. He's been gone 3 weeks. Oh, both of these kids have records for possession and prostitution." Penelope, the goddess of wisdom, recited.

"So they were street hustlers?" Emily confirmed.

Hotch began to add his thoughts, "At-risk kids. This could be a sexual predator."
