So What I Like You?

It's been two months since my sleepover with Jade and the sex dreams about her only get more frequent. I can't deny it anymore, I like her. Our routine has been for the most part the same. Every morning, she picks me up, sometimes with breakfast and we eat or sit in the car just talking before we walk into school ten minutes before it starts. We hang out every single every weekend, and sometimes after school if we're free. She has become my closest friend but there is something wrong with our relationship. I'm about to be replaced.

Two weeks ago, Marcy from second period befriended Jade, and I hate her. She always has her hair in two grabbable pigtails and she flirts with everybody, literally everybody, because she's bi. She has dated almost every male and every single gay girl in our senior class. Every single gay girl except me of course. She's tried multiple time though, I denied every time, and now I'm scared she's pining for Jade, my Jade.

Now we are on our way to pick up that skank, ruining our routine. "Why'd you agree to pick her up?" I whine for the third time since we've she picked me up. "Salem, stop complaining it's only one morning and it's almost over." I groan and roll my eyes for the tenth time. "Can't you see she's using you? Pretty soon she's gonna ask you out and cute you off like two week later. It's happened to like everyone in our grade. And she knows your rich too, she's gonna be asking for shit left and right." I go on a vindictive rant trying to convince Jade to hop on the Darcy hate train.

"Slow down Salem. You really think I'm gonna date her? You're actually got to be kidding me." She bursts out laughing like what I said was hilarious. "Salem, trust me I'm not gonna go out with her, I already know all those things about her. Trust me I won't go out with her." She reaches for my hand prompting for me to hold it. She rubs circles on the back of my hand with her thumb calming me down instantly.

"I'm sorry, I was just worried that you where gonna date the wrong person." I sigh a breath of relief. "The wrong person? Baby what are you talking about? It doesn't sound like your worried, it sounds to me like you're jealous Salem." She teases me with a laugh. I quickly retract my hand from her soft grip. "No I'm not. You're just being silly, I'm just a concerned friend that doesn't want her friend to get hurt." We pull up to Darcy's driveway, she honks a few times before Darcy emerges from her house running to her car. "Jade, all I am saying is don't offer to drive her anymore, you're mine only." I pause realizing how selfish and greedy I sound, "I mean, you're my only ride." She laughs again then unlocks her back door granting Darcy access to get inside.

"Good morning Jade. Morning Salem."

"Morning Darcy." We say in unison.

"I really appreciate you picking me up, could you do so from now on?" I stare at her with a 'I told you so' look on my face. "Yeah Jade, can you pick her up from now on?" She gives a defeated sigh, "I'm sorry Darcy but today is the only day, my mornings are already busy." I grin satisfied with her answer, "Yeah sorry Darcy she has to pick up me." That could have been the most passive aggressive comment I have ever said to someone. Darcy scoffs, like she always does when someone passes on her advances. "That's okay Jade, I understand your predicament" She put emphasis on Jade and she stared at me when she said predicament. But this time I was satisfied that someone hated me, because that meant she wanted to be me, to be with Jade like I was with her. I reach out for her hand, which she grabbed almost immediately. For the rest of the ride I fiddle with the rings on her fingers.

We arrive to school in 8 minutes or so. As soon as we arrive Darcy jumps out the car almost immediately not even bothering to wait for the car to stop completely. "So you want to tell me why you were jealous?"
