You were preparing yourself to leave to your residence when walking past one of the many corridors.
You've heard voice, one of them panicked while the other one seemed to be the one causing the discomfort.
"it's nothing !" The woman spoke while you heard more movement.
"Then you wouldn't mind me seeing won't you ?" Seth. You recognized and rolled your eyes to yourself.
Something fell and Hathor gasped as you walked past the corner and saw them both appearing in sight.
Seth held the goddess's wrist who desperately tried reaching for the fallen mirror.
Oh ? You lowered your hand taking it from the ground.
"DON'T TOUCH THAT" She told you as you flicked it around.
"Hand it over." Seth told you and you shot him a glare.
"Hathor is this yours ?" You asked even though you already knew the answer to that.
She hummed with hope that you wouldn't make it any harder for her and comply to her request. Yet you looked back at it and saw Horus in the reflection on the glass.
A headache shot through you when you found yourself in a dark room with no one around.
Be cursed. You thought.
You started whispering quiet words, meant to break whatever illusion you blamed Asenath for before hearing a voice.
"[Name] ?"
"Nephthys ?" You asked before processing your own thoughts.
Maybe this time it had nothing to do with the god of illusions and silver.
You looked around briefly. This didn't look like a prison to you. Not even an illusion.
A trap ? Your thoughts wandered back to the mirror.
"You shouldn't be there." Goddess of peace and harmony told you while taking a shaky step in your way. "You can't get out!"
Lie, your told yourself sure of it.
"A part of you never will." She said after reading the expression your face which was unfazed.
This didn't feel like a lie.
"Where are we?" Maybe it was worth asking.
"Where are we ? Where am I !?" Nephthys asked genuine concern in her tone.
You couldn't make a difference between truth and lie as some of your knowledge was forced out of your mind at the instant.
You felt a headache, and she herself screamed in pain when you were back in front of Hathor and Seth.
The mirror has fallen off your hand and the war's god was holding the jewelry around your neck the same way he could on someone's collar.
The goddess yelped and crouched down reaching for her belonging while your eyes dilated back to normal to meet Seth's gaze.
"What in Ra's name." He said while tightening his harsh grip on you. which was ironic knowing that the sun's god had no worth in his eyes.
You were quick to regain sense and grabbed his own wrist while Hathor took a step back shortly after looking at you with faint concern.
"Explain what happened just now." He ordered.
He refused to let go of you as Hathor tried sneaking her way out.
"Come back here!"
Seth's eyes followed her frame but your voice made it that he looked back at you allowing her to make her way past the next hallway.
"Let go of me."
"You looked like a fool holding that. What was it ?" He rushed.
"Common knowledge." You said, referring to your ignorance which was obviously a lie.
"I will ki-" he muffled the words with an irritated sigh before yanking you back when letting go of you.
"When I take back Egypt you will be the first on whose blood I'll use to paint my walls." He said and you forced a smile.
"When you fail I'll make sure that your ability depends on me and me alone." You said and his jaw clenched while he glared at you.
"Or maybe those trials won't have to wait." Threat threat and threat.
He cursed more at you, his words reaching his own ears as he suddenly turned his back to walk away.
You watched him leave and lowered your gaze.
Strange. You thought.
Not because of his temper suddenly dying which itself was unusual.
But because at the mention of him losing the trials wasn't a lie on your tongue.
So now you were sure,
The god of war wasn't the one who's Egypt will be handed to.
