The government, in order to better protect Xiao Xiao, allocated a house to her, equipped with the strictest security measures.
Xiao Xiao initially entered the laboratory intending to see if there was any way to find a method to return. However, the technological level of this world was too low. Even though she had the theoretical knowledge, there wasn't a corresponding industrial level to realize it. Not to mention anything else, they couldn't even build a space jump machine.
After so long, Xiao Xiao no longer had the urgent desire to return to her original world.
"Take it slow," she thought. Perhaps she might never find a way back in her lifetime, given the vast gap between this world and the level of interstellar technology. Although she was a genius scientist in the field of interstellar research, it didn't mean she knew everything.
Wang Wei was busy laying the foundations of his business, and Xiao Xiao, having no interest in business, wanted to build her own laboratory. Besides conducting experiments, she planned to teach and spread some of her theories. After all, the development of a world's technological level couldn't possibly depend on just one person.
The news of Xiao Xiao's intention to teach immediately sparked a fierce competition between Peking University and Tsinghua University, each eager to have her join their institution.
The two universities fought over her as if it was a matter of life and death.
Xiao Xiao eventually chose Tsinghua University. Although she studied at Peking University, the science and engineering disciplines were indeed first-rate at Tsinghua University, where she was needed more.
Tsinghua University was overjoyed at winning her over, especially a few professors who were familiar with Xiao Xiao, celebrating exuberantly. Peking University was reluctant to let her go, but the government issued a notice allowing Xiao Xiao to graduate early.
After all, no one could really teach Xiao Xiao anything; who had the capability to be her teacher? The government was more than happy for her to teach, hoping she could nurture a few talents for the country.
Peking University had no choice but to reluctantly issue her an excellent graduation certificate.
Having studied for only one year and then receiving an outstanding student award was unprecedented at Peking University.
Xiao Xiao's days went by leisurely. She spent time building her laboratory and, when free, gave a few lectures at the university.
Her classes were always packed to the brim, and more than half of the attendees were not even students but teachers, professors, and even leading figures from the science community who came to audit her lectures.
Xiao Xiao taught theoretical physics at Tsinghua University. The students who had chosen her course initially didn't take her seriously, especially when they heard that she had only studied at a university for one year before being hired as a professor at Tsinghua University; they were quite indignant. How could someone younger than them become a professor so soon?
But the first lecture alone was enough to astonish these skeptical students.
When they leisurely arrived at the classroom, they found it already filled with people, predominantly older teachers and professors. Some faces were unfamiliar, while others were recognizably those who had taught them.
Now, these educators sat there uniformly, each with a notebook spread out in front of them, waiting solemnly for Xiao Xiao's arrival.
"My goodness, what's going on? Did we enter the wrong classroom?" one student stepped back to check the classroom number, puzzledly saying to a classmate, "No, it's correct!"
One of Tsinghua University's teachers, a bit embarrassed, said, "This is indeed Teacher Xiao's class. Please come in and listen." It was somewhat awkward for them, sitting alongside students to attend a lecture.
But the lecturer was Xiao Xiao, a figure of significant stature. Not just these teachers, but also the leading figures from the science academy had arrived early.
The students, confused, entered the classroom and took seats in the back row since the front was fully occupied.
Later arrivals were just as perplexed by the scene in the classroom.
An earlier student shouted, "Hey, come in. This is Teacher Xiao's class."
"What's going on? Why are there so many teachers here?" Some of them were well-known professors in the school.
"I don't know..." The students, of course, couldn't comprehend the full extent of Xiao Xiao's achievements and found the whole situation baffling.
When Xiao Xiao entered the classroom and saw it mostly filled with adults over forty and many familiar faces from the science academy, she instantly understood their purpose.
The actual students were relegated to standing at the back of the classroom.
"To the professors and teachers, you are welcome to listen, but next time, please don't take the seats from these students."
The professors and teachers sitting in the front suddenly felt embarrassed.
The students in the back hastily gestured, "It's okay, it's okay, let the teachers sit..." After all, some of them were their instructors. Offending them could lead to potential retribution.
Xiao Xiao made her point, but she didn't really mind who attended her lectures.
After her statement, she began the lecture.
Even though Xiao Xiao believed she had simplified the material and made it as understandable as possible, most of the students still looked bewildered. Only a few top students occasionally pondered over her words, soon had epiphanies, and then furiously took notes.
The professors and teachers in the front row were particularly attentive, fearing they might miss even a single word.
After the class, while most students were visibly confused and overwhelmed, the professors and teachers felt they had gained a lot, solidifying their determination to continue attending Xiao Xiao's lectures.
Xiao Xiao's laboratory was still under construction, primarily due to the lack of advanced experimental equipment. Even though she had prepared all the data and schematics, producing them with Huaguo's current capabilities would take a significant amount of time.
During this period, Xiao Xiao took the opportunity to teach as many classes as she could.
The number of people attending her lectures increased, not just with more and more teachers and professors of advanced age but also with senior students joining in.
The school had no choice but to arrange for Xiao Xiao's classes to be held in the auditorium to accommodate everyone.
Eventually, even the auditorium was not large enough, with many attendees bringing their own stools and desks to take notes.
