Chapter 24

Dambi looked over the paper, making sure to read it over two or three times. Once she saw no mistakes, she nodded in satisfaction. Now, all she needed was Jungkook's signature and the Gwangbaek throne would officially become his. Seeing how much Junyo had changed once Seokjin and Taehyung got on the throne gave her hope that Gwangbaek could receive the same changes. Unlike her, there will be no one in his way to stop the changes. Namsan knocked on her door.

"Hey Namsan what's up?"

"Lady Ari is here, she's over by the stables."

"I'll be right there." Dambi rolled up the letter and patted Namsan on the shoulder. He gave her a soft smile as she headed outside. She went towards the stables and saw Ari petting and feeding the horses.

"Ari-yah." She ran over to the omega hugging her. Ari's face became red when Dambi kissed her cheek.

"Dambi, what if someone sees us?"

"You always pick the most discreet places to meet. I know no one saw but it doesn't matter anyway. After this is all over, I want you by my side...forever."

Ari's eyes widened, she then cleaned her throat and created some distance between the two.

"Dambi, we need to focus."

The Alpha Queen grunted but nodded in agreement.

"Hangyeol finished examining the herbs there's poison in them."

"P-Poison?!"

Ari nodded. "He said it's a soft poison, where it's not deadly from one inhalation but over time it will become deadly. How long has Jangmi been sick?"

"I believe her illness started when she was about ten, so the last eight years."

"Her condition is getting worse because the poison is starting to take effect. You have to get Jangmi out of the palace and give her this. It's a small antidote Hangyeol was able to make. It'll only relieve some pain for now. Hangyeol is working on a stronger one." She gave Dambi the small bottle.

"And give this to Jungkook. All he needs to do is sign this."

"Ok. Will you be ok?" Ari looked at her. Dambi chuckled softly.

"You being worried about me must mean something is about to happen. Nonetheless I'll be fine Ari-yah." She kissed the omega's lips. "I love you."

Ari smiled. "I love you too. When this is over let's live together."

"It's a promise." Dambi said as she watched Ari leave. Dambi inhaled deeply, trying to contain her anger. How could Myeong do something like this to their daughter? She had to think where she could put Jangmi to keep her safe. Maybe sending her to live with Ari and Hangyeol would be the best choice.

Dambi went to find Jangmi but stopped when she saw two guards restraining Namsan.

"Hey! What the hell are you two doing?!"

A blunt object struck her in the back of the head, knocking her down to her knees and two guards put her arms behind her back.

"What the hell?! Are you ready to go down for treason, you idiots?"

Myeong's shoes came into view and Dambi glared up at the omega. If the guards weren't holding her back, she would have torn the omega to shreds.

"Alpha Queen Dambi, your palace is being taken over. I, Myeong from the Lee Clan will be taking over Gwangbaek. I will be signing the Peace Treaty in your place after all Queen Dambi can't make it because she has gotten into a horse riding accident. Put them in the dungeon."
