Chapter 25

Jimin led the way to the secret passage and they entered the courtyard. Jimin gasped when he came face to face with Yunho.

"I always expect to maybe see Taehyungie come through here but not you." Yunho chuckled. "So, we meet again."

"Sorry for sneaking in like this. Do you think you can help us?" Jimin asked.

"Sure. What do you need help with?"

"King Jihoon is ill and we don't think it's by natural causes. So Taehyung and King Seokjin asked us if we could rescue him and bring him back to Junyo." Jimin said.

"Mmm, good point. I don't think he got sick from natural causes either. The Queen has forbidden anyone seeing him as well. You guys picked the perfect time to come. Let's go."

They snuck into the palace. Jimin was amazed with Yunho, his agility and his stealth wasn't like anything he had ever seen. One of these days he wanted to talk to Yunho and learn the ways of his skills. Yunho gently knocked any guard that was in their way.

It wasn't long before they reached Jihoon's chambers. Jimin's eyes watered seeing his father up close for the first time. He had seen the King of Nawon once or twice in his life but to think this man was his alpha father. He placed his hand on the king's sweated forehead. Jihoon opened his eyes.

"Hangyeol-ah?"

"I'm his son." Jimin whispered.

A soft smile came across Jihoon's face. "I'm so happy I was able to protect Hangyeol and our pup. Wait, is your name Jimin?"

"It is?"

"Ah he went with the name after all." Jihoon began coughing and Jimin rubbed his back.

"Take a deep breath. We need to get you out of here."

Hoseok looked on the nightstand and saw an incense. "This smells strange." He said.

"Yeah I was thinking that too." Namjoon replied. "King Jihoon, let us help you change your clothing, so you won't stand out in the crowd and I will be putting you on my back."

"Prince Namjoon, not a problem. Thank you for your help." They helped King Jihoon change and got him on Namjoon's back.

"Leaving is going to be tricky." Jimin said.

"Let me lead." He said and they made their way out of the palace.

Jimin looked at Yunho. "I don't know when I'll be able to see you again, after the Peace Treaty, I'm sure we will be going to war but I still want to find a way to show my gratitude."

Yunho bowed on one knee to Jimin. "You're King Jihoon's son, therefore making you the Crown Prince of Nawon. My allegiance is with you and I will fight to the end to see you on the throne of Nawon."

Jimin's eyes widened as he stammered over his words.

Yunho stood up, smiling. "The future is up to you."

"Thank you again." They all bowed to Yunho and left.

A guard who watched everything, rushed off to tell Misun but Yunho caught up to him and immediately killed him.

"You will not get in the way of the peaceful future." He hid the guard's body before leaving for Gwangbaek to check on Queen Dambi.

Taehyung held Joonwoo in his arms, the pup gripped his finger and Taehyung smiled.

"Joonwoo-yah, you're growing stronger each day. No matter what, your future will be bright. I promise you." He kissed the pup's forehead.
