"Whichever timeline or branch of this universe, the warm and soothing radiance will appear to bring new colors of life and hope."
There are despairs and cries of sadness, then darkness.
Mary wakes up and finds herself inside a casket and in a chao...

Headmaster Crowley was quiet inside his office, staring at the set of pictures displaying a painting of butterflies—large, compelling and alluring. One glance and it would not be labeled ordinary butterflies, he wouldn't also agree because these butterflies, he painted them from an inspiration he never spoke of to anyone.
Not that they needed to know, it was a personal matter not required to share with the students or his staff. Divus Crewel was his friend but this remained a topic he had a hard time bringing to the surface.
An important case was to be addressed today. He pushed the deep thoughts aside about butterflies when a knock was heard from the other side and the door was pushed open.
Mary peeked her head first, "Good morning headmaster."
He furrowed his eyebrows, "Girl what are you doing there? Get inside, how am I going to talk to you if you are peeking like a thief." Sometimes he couldn't help internally facepalming at this lone female student of NRC, "Come inside, I did call for you, did I?"
"Sorry, I just want to be sure we are not interrupting..." Mary pushed the door fully opened and entered inside, following her was Grim.
Both Ramshackle Dorm students stood side by side before his mahogany table, there was a folder placed on the table and Headmaster Crowley gestured a hand to it. "I received a report from Riddle Rosehearts regarding an incident from his dorm weeks ago" Crowley began, "He took responsibility for his own actions and that both of you took care of the incident."
A surprised look on Grim's face, "Really? He did that?"
While Mary was blushing at the mention of Riddle again.
"Yes he did, Rosehearts is one of the genuinely responsible students in the academy though he does have that perfectionist and strict tendency but he wouldn't pass the blame onto another, that's below of him. I'd normally have a detention or worse lined up for this kind of trouble but because he initiated stating the truth and telling me of your deeds, I'd let it go." The masked headmaster stated again, leaning back on his chair. "You took me by surprise with this report, Mary. I didn't expect both of you to do damage control."
That kind of made Grim's eye brow raised, he crossed his arms and muttered. "Can you try to wipe your glasses or take that mask off so you can see is from a proper perspective, yeah?" He was bristled up because it sounded to him like what he and Mary did at Heartslabyul Dorm was undermined and Headmaster didn't agree about giving them credit for it. Hmph.
"Moving onto another subject." Headmaster said, not reacting to Grim's side remark. "I need you both to investigate something in my behalf."
Mary was taken aback, she tilted her head. "Investigate?" Her question was laced in confusion.
"No we ain't." A point-blank refusal from Grim, now he would ask them to investigate after saying those things to them?! Nuh-uh. "Mary and I will not involve ourselves--"
