We stayed there for an hour or so. Hindi s'ya nagsalita o nag tanong man lang tungkol sa nangyari.

I was so stunned that I couldn't even move to dispatch the body. S'ya na ang naglinis ng kalat.

Nilinisan n'ya din ang paligid ng lapida at nagtirik ng kandila. Hindi ko alam kung saan n'ya iyon nakuha.

"I was sleeping. Maybe I heard some? I don't know. I'm not sure." Aniya at uminom sa dala n'yang coffee cup.

"Are you on a camp, perhaps?" Nakangiwing ani ko dahil sa backpack na nasa tabi n'ya.

"Whenever I'm bored, I go for hiking." He simply said that made me chortle.

"Hike? Are you serious?" Nilibot ko ang paningin ko sa paligid.

Ang baba naman ng burol na ito.

"Well, at least I climbed?" Inosenteng aniya. Tila nabasa ang nasa isip ko.

Umirap na lang ako.

Nagpalipas pa ako ng ilang minuto bago nag ayos ng sarili.

I had to go back because I'm sure Maddie is now awake and crying so hard because she couldn't find me in the bed.

"Bababa ka na ba?" Tanong n'ya.

"Yeah." Sagot ko at tinanggal ang tali ng kabayo sa sanga.

"Would you mind if I come with you?" Nag aalangan n'yang tanong. I just shrugged my shoulders bago sumakay sa kabayo.

Tinitigan ko s'ya habang nag aayos s'ya ng gamit.

How come the world gets too crueler to those who only want what's the best for themselves? Why is life so hard to those who have good hearts? I will never understand that. People do good but get bad things in return.

I didn't mind him riding the same horse as mine. He's even holding on to my waist as the horse galloped down the hill.

"Queen! Thank God you're here!" Salubong sa akin ni Silver at pasimpleng sumulyap sa lalaking nasa likod ko.

A smirk formed on my lips pero agad ko itong pinawi.

Nilingon ko si Kai. Nakakunot ang noo n'ya at nakikinita ko ang galit sa mga mata n'ya.

"You know anything about this?" I asked. Hindi n'ya ako sinagot.

Lumapit sa kanya si Pierre.

"The Queen is asking you, soldier." Seryosong aniya. Umayos ng tayo si Kai at malamig na tiningnan ng diretso sa mga mata si Pierre.

"He cut off ties with me. He never contacted me ever since that event happened." Malamig na aniya.

Natigilan ako habang nakatingin sa mga mata nya.

I was seventeen when I saw his eyes become this dangerously cold. I couldn't stop myself from getting goosebumps and right then I knew that he would become someone who's way too far from the guy I fell in love with. He was dangerous. Especially when he's serious. He'd become lethal.
