Chapter 19: The Basic Biology and A Beta's Love

Taehyung walked into the mansion's kitchen early that morning after a sleepless night, still recovering from the stunt Yoongi had pulled. As he entered the space he found Jimin already there, pouring himself a cup of coffee. "Where the fuck were you?" Taehyung demanded in frustration ,making Jimin look up from his cup.

"And..damn! Who mauled you?" Taehyung continued, noticing Jimin's still swollen lips and the teeth marks around his neck.

"What do you want? Why are you awake at this hour?" Jimin shot back, his voice laced with irritation.

Taehyung creased his forehead "I could ask the same to you. Are you just getting back home? Did you hook up with someone?" He pressed, raising an eyebrow. He couldn't help but notice that Jimin was still in his clothes from the day before yesterday, looking disheveled and worn out.

"Just tell me what you want and get lost. I have a headache and I want to be left alone!!" Jimin snapped, rubbing his temples and glaring at Taehyung with his bloodshot eyes.

"Oh, you are in a bad mood... I have been trying to find you since last night. I called you but your phone was off and you weren't in your room. Your staff said you left the studio early . Where the hell did you go? I have told you a million times to don't dare  disappear for hooking up with random people..Why won't you listen idiot!!" Taehyung asked with his gaze fixed intently on Jimin.

"Whatever ! Just tell what you want!!" Jimin replied sharply, not bothering to look up as he took another sip of his coffee.

"Okay... I won't press now, but once you are  feeling better, you are spilling all the details, mister!!" Taehyung said, trying to lighten the mood with a half-hearted smile. "Now, I have a few questions!!" he continued ..leaning against the counter and crossing his arms, his expression turning serious again.

"Hmm!!" Jimin grumbled, taking a long sip of his coffee and giving Taehyung a subtle nod to continue.

Taehyung bit his lip..hesitating for a moment. "Wh... what do omegas do when they go into heat?"

"They fuck!!"Jimin replied bluntly, his eyes narrowing as if the answer was obvious.

"Ohhh!!" Taehyung nodded in understanding, then suddenly paused. "Wait... I know that. Not that... I mean pre-heat. What are the symptoms or whatever?"he asked again

Jimin sighed "Why are you asking me this right now?" Jimin asked, raising an eyebrow "We went to school and college together. I'm pretty sure basic biology was covered in high school."

"Because you topped the classes and I slept through them!" Taehyung admitted with a shrug, trying to play off his embarrassment.

"And... you haven't taken care of an omega before?" Jimin asked with a shrug.

Taheyung scoffed "What do you think? You are my best friend—have you ever seen me with an omega outside of a rut? Dating is more your forte. You have taken care of your omega girlfriend back in college. Come on, tell me!" Taehyung asked pulling on Jimin's shirt ends like a kid

"Yeah, I forgot you were busy chasing the wolf in your dreams!!" Jimin sighed, shaking his head with a tired smile. "Alright, pre-heat..It's pretty standard. Omegas usually experience cramps and their sensitivity to smells goes crazy. They also start obsessing about pups..imagining their future families or even just wanting to cuddle with anything that smells comforting. Cravings kick in too...like suddenly needing fried chicken or ice cream at 3 AM. They can have intense mood swings too..they feel vulnerable..Thats why they crave for alpha or their beta's affection..more for  alpha scents because its calming and  betas don't have any scent...apparently!!" He sighed as the flashback of jungkook scenting him suddenly popping up on his mind.
