Chapter 24 : The Beginning of Everything

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah..." Yoongi nodded, though his face was still slightly flushed from the lingering effects of his heat. His hands moved slowly as he folded a sweater into his bag. The heat had ended quicker than he had expected...it was too quick to feel normal. He was almost certain it had been a flash heat, probably triggered by Taehyung being near to him..but he didn't want to dwell on it.. because he had more important things to worry about right now

Jungkook hesitated, standing awkwardly near the bed, watching the omega. "I'm sorry I left you alone, Yoonnie. I should've been here!! You told me that your heat's probably coming early....I didn't listen!!" His voice dropped to a whisper , feeling guilty

They were in Yoongi's room, packing. Jungkook had rushed over as soon as he heard Yoongi was in heat, but by the time he arrived, it had already passed and Yoongi was functioning normally. Jungkook hadn't needed to intervene at all. Now, they were preparing to return to their kingdom, where King Sangook was furious about everything that had happened.

Yoongi glanced at Jungkook offering a faint, tired smile. "It's okay, hyung. You didn't know. And...I understand why you left in a hurry!!"

Jungkook frowned, tilting his head "What do you mean?"

Yoongi stopped folding, his hands resting on a neatly pressed shirt "Jimin.... it's because of him.. isn't it?! " he said softly.

Jungkook froze in place and his expression stiffened almost immediately. "H...How...?"

"I guessed.." Yoongi replied, shrugging one shoulder. "It wasn't hard to figure out. It's obvious...really....especially now..the way he has been avoiding you!! "

Jungkook's shoulders slumped and he let out a shaky breath. "I wanted to talk to him one last time..." he admitted "There are things I needed to say....things I wanted to figure out. But he doesn't want to see me. He has been avoiding me...." He paused, his gaze dropping to the floor "Maybe it's for the best....What good would talking do? It wouldn't change anything. It's not like I can do anything about us...right?"he asked , more to himself than to Yoongi

Yoongi gave him a small...sad smile "We are really pathetic, aren't we?"

Jungkook chuckled lightly, though there was no humor in it. "Yeah...I guess we are!!"

The silence between them stretched, after that...Jungkook broke it first... "Are you really okay now? Is it...fully over? We can stay a few more days if you need " He looked at Yoongi closely, concern etched into his features..."Why did it end so fast? Was it normal?"

"I'm fine," Yoongi reassured him, adjusting the turtleneck that was covering the marks Taehyung had left on him. "I think it was just a flash heat. It happens sometimes!!"

He looked away, his gaze drifting to the window where frost was beginning to stick to the glass. He knew the snow would start falling any day now, and he had hoped to witness it while he was here. But at this moment, his mind wasn't on the frost, the snow, or anything else...it was on Taehyung and the heat they spend together.He wanted to tell Jungkook about him, to confess the weight that had been growing in his chest. He knew that even though their relationship was weird and practically nonexistent, Jungkook had always been honest with him.

But the words wouldn't comeout of his mouth

He swallowed them down and turned back to his packing, deciding to let go of the topic for now. He knew that once he left this place, it wouldn't be a problem anymore.

After a moment, Yoongi spoke again "Father's mad, isn't he?"

"Yeah, he is!!" Jungkook admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. "But not at you... He's mad at me. He says I was irresponsible for leaving you alone. You know how he is...also he babies you...He won't stay angry with you... don't worry!!"he assured
