Chapter 20: The Blurred Lines

Taehyung's heart raced like a wild stallion as he caught sight of Yoongi standing under the towering oak tree. The crescent moon above them casted a soft glow on Yoongi's face, highlighting the delicate features that usually went unnoticed beneath his baggy clothes. But tonight  , though... Yoongi looked different. He wore a delicate white shirt that clung to his lean frame, accentuating his petite figure in a way that left Taehyung utterly breathless. His neckline dipped low enough to reveal the subtle curve of his collarbone, and there..resting on his chest, was a beautiful small moon pendant, its silver surface glinting under the moonlight.Yoongi's lips looked  plump and soft, glistening slightly in the moon's glow...it was as if they were begging to be kissed. And Taehyung found himself biting the inside of his cheek just to stay grounded ..to resist the pull he felt towards the omega.

But it wasn't just Yoongi's appearance that left him in a daze...it was his scent. The familiar smell of jasmine was overly sweet that night ,  making it hard for Taehyung to focus on anything..it was wrapping around his senses like a spell, making his wolf stir with want.

He swallowed hard, knowing he was treading dangerously close to a line he shouldn't cross. Jimin had warned him...and he himself knew he was playing with fire being near an omega that's soon going into heat but, the thrill of being so close to Yoongi, of having him to himself for the next few days without interruption, was something Taehyung could never pass on

"Hey, Tae!!" Yoongi greeted softly, pulling Taehyung from his thoughts.

Taehyung blinked, struggling to mask the desire in his eyes. "Hey baby" he tried to smile

And before Taehyung could react, Yoongi closed the gap between them, he went on his tippy toes, wrapping his arms around the alpha in a gentle but firm hug. The warmth of Yoongi's body, pressed so closely against his own made Taehyung's pulse quicken. He was certain Yoongi could feel his heartbeat the way it raced beneath his skin.

"I'm excited!!" Yoongi murmured, his breath hot against Taehyung's neck..sending a shiver down his spine. "Can we go to the lake where we first met?"

Taehyung nodded, trying to calm the storm within him. "Of course. Do you want to run or... walk?"

Yoongi pulled back slightly, his eyes sparkling with the same moonlight that bathed them. "Walk. I want to enjoy the night."

Taehyung smiled, though his mind was anything but calm. As they began their slow stroll through the forest, he couldn't stop the thoughts racing through his mind. Being, alone under the stars, with Yoongi's scent filling the air..it felt like something was bound to happen. Something he wasn't sure he could resist any longer.

Taehyung led Yoongi along the forest trails..the night air was chilly ...the weather was changing rapidly and they were expecting the first snowfall any day now. But, despite the cold, Yoongi appeared completely at ease...just like a pure northern-bred wolf. He didn't shiver or anything , even though he was dressed very lightly. The air around them was filled with the scent of pine and damp earth as they approached the familiar path leading to the serene lake, Yoongi's smile grew as soon the lake came into the view..the sight of the moonlit water brought them both back to that unforgettable night..the night where their lives and reality changed forever.

"You know.." Yoongi began, his voice soft with nostalgia, "that night... I swear I thought I was dreaming. I always believed those dreams were just my imagination, but you... you were real. Even more magnificent than I could have ever imagined." He said , his eyes fixated on the still water

Taehyung's heart swelled at Yoongi's words, his lips curving into a smile. "So you had those dreams too? Oh, I should have known...actually!! I didn't even realize I was sulking about your arrival. I ran away that night to avoid meeting your noona and your family. If only I had known the one from my dreams was the one I was running away from." He chuckled lightly
