Thank god the street is quiet and deserted.

I look up at the house. I'm relieved to be back home, but my mind is still preoccupied with the events of the night.

"You okay?"He asks, his voice soft and measured.
I  glance at Ivarsen, surprised by the concern in his tone.
"Yeah, I'm fine."He raises an eyebrow, clearly not convinced.
"Don't lie. It's written all over your face."I sigh, the exhaustion catching up to me.
"I'm just... a lot has happened tonight. It's a lot to take in."He nods.
"I get it. You've been through a lot. It's okay to feel overwhelmed."
I look down, avoiding his gaze.
"You're stronger than you think, you know that?"

I'm not.

Ivarsen takes a deep breath.
"Where do we stand now, you and me?"I look away, trying to process my feelings and gather my thoughts.
"I can't do this right now."I say I can't control my voice, and it cracks.
I can't come with the terms , the fact that he is not who I thought he was.
He nods.
"I understand. Then I'll head back."
I nodded. Gunnar went back. I know he'll help Ivarsen get in their house. That's good.

"Bye."I say.
"Bye."He says  and smiles .He walks away.

I call my sister.

She doesn't answer, of course.

The phone rings several times and goes to voicemail.

Damn!

I called again and again, but still no answer.

Finally.

Her  voice is groggy and disoriented, indicating she's still half-asleep. "Hmm? Who is it...?"
I sigh in relief.
"It's me, Indie." I reply, trying to keep my worry out of my voice.

"Indie? Why are you calling so late? Is everything okay?Wait, why are you calling? Aren't you in your room?"

"It's a long story. Listen, Finn, open the front door for me, but be careful.Don't wake up anyone. "
I hear her  groan.

"Fine, give me a minute." There's a rustling sound.

After a few tense moments, she  finally opens the door quietly.
"Okay, it's open." She whispers.
I quickly push the door open and step into the room. She stands there in her pajamas, her hair disheveled from sleep.
"Jesus, Indie, what the hell is going on?" She mutters.
"It wait till the morning. It's the middle of the night."
She nods, yawning.
"And Finn.Don't tell anyone I was here,okay?"
She can barely keep her eyes open.

This girl.

She nods, still sleepy .
"Yeah, sure, I won't say anything." She rubs her eyes, clearly tired and wanting to go back to bed.

I sigh in relief .
"Okay, you should get some rest. I'll...I'll see you in the morning."

We walk carefully upstairs.
I walk in my room, feeling the weight of the night's events heavy on my  shoulders.

I head straight for the bathroom, needing the hot water to wash away the tension and lingering fear.
I take a shower, scrubbing my skin until it's red. After getting out, I changed into a pair of soft, comfortable pyjamas. As I climb into bed, the exhaustion finally catches up with me and  I close my eyes, drifting off into a troubled sleep.

I stir  groggily as someone shakes me awake.
"Hey, wake up." My sister says.Or it's
mom?
"You're going to be late for school!Jesus I can't believe it!" I groan feeling the exhaustion weighing me down.
"I don't want to go." I mutter burying my face in the pillow.
"Wait what! Are you okay ?You don't want to go tk school!?You've always went to school even when you were having a fever but mom find out and took you anyway that's not important right now."
Despite my bone-deep exhaustion and the urge to hide under the covers, I know  I don't want to skip school . As much as I crave more sleep with a heavy sigh, I reluctantly sit up, rubbing my eyes.
"Mom and dad know you went to school cause you took your uniform in your back with your things. So change and come down to eat."
