3rd Person Pov

The sun shone brightly over the small town, with the sound of ocean waves echoing across the city's south side. This town, known for its...alien encounters, is called Beach City.

However, our story doesn't unfold in Beach City. It takes place just outside it, in a quaint village named Bloodrose. Bloodrose holds a bakery, a general store, a car shop, a mechanic, a farm, a bank, and the home of their protectors: The Crystello.

♫ We... are the crys-te-los, we'll always save the day, ♫

♫ And if you think we can't, we'll always find a way, ♫

♫ That's why the people of this world believe in, ♫

♫ Andesine, Peridot, Spinel, and Y/N! ♫

Y/N's Pov

I wake up to the sound of Perry, or Peridot, yelling for me to get up because breakfast is ready. I climb out of my hammock, which I've been using as a bed since Perry couldn't figure out how to build an actual one and Andesine claimed it was a "good way to save money." I slip on my clothes: ripped jeans with one of my two gems fitting perfectly in one of the rips. Then I put on a grey tank top with a hole cut right between my breasts, where my other gem fits snugly. I slide on my crop top sweatshirt, which covers everything up to my belly button. The sweatshirt has a black main part with a checker pattern that matches the colors of my tennis shoes. Speaking of which, I slip on my black tennis shoes adorned with stars in white, a lighter shade of black, yellow, blue, and a few in a reddish pink. These shoes, made by my mom and Peridot, grow along with my feet, and I have a few extra pairs in case I lose or break one.

I look in the mirror and see my mom and mother's black hair with a few white streaks, supposedly inherited from my father.

I brush my hair and tie it into a ponytail with a ribbon that looks like my mother's. Then, I head to the bathroom connected to my room and brush my teeth, taking a moment to appreciate the minty freshness that wakes me up a bit more.

I walk downstairs and make my way to the island on the outskirts of the kitchen, the smell of breakfast making my stomach growl. The kitchen is warm and inviting, a stark contrast to the cold wooden chairs that Andesine built, but they're sturdy and well-crafted. Perry designed this whole place with such care and attention to detail, and Andesine brought those designs to life with her skillful hands.

As I sit down, I can't help but think about my mother. She was a "fancy" Pearl, a designation that meant she was used as a personal servant. While I think it's a bit wrong to use someone that way, I understand why it's done. Pearls are seen as status symbols, their elegance and obedience making them desirable to those in power. To be honest, I would love to have someone work for me, but I'd want them to have their own life and dreams. Who would want someone who only lives to serve them?!
My mom, however, was a high-ranking gem. She was so high-ranking that she had her own Pearl and worked directly under Black Diamond. After Black Diamond went missing, my mom was sent to Earth to oversee it. During this time, she was sent gems hand-picked by Black Diamond to assist her. She then... reproduced with my dad, but he eventually left. My mom and her Pearl fused, and then they had me. Or so I've been told.I look down at my gems and smile.

"You both love me, and I love both of you," I say, my smile growing bigger.

Because of my two gems, I am mostly gems. The only human traits I have are the need to sleep, eat, and drink occasionally. I also can't poof. My appearance is more gem-like because of this, and since I am essentially a fusion, my mother's gem changed colors. I think it's because my mom is much stronger than my mother. Instead of being just a Pearl, I have decided my gem name is Black Opal since the shape and color match up (at least that's what the other gems said).
